I bought a selfi ring light, the XJ-19 in a bid to enhance the images I was videoing. I find it particularly an issue with light when I’m under my truck with a camera in one hand and a torch in another!
With this cheap ring of light, I do find a real improvement as you have light where ever you point the camera, or phone in my case! It does have a limited throw of light but for me it does work. If you wanted to use it for its original purpose of taking a selfi in poor light then this is for you. It has a ring of 40 leds’, 20 white and 20 yellow. Depending on how many times you press the "on" button you can have a colour output ranging from 3500-6500k, or warm white to cool white. Also, you can adjust the brightness, up or down. I get about 10 minutes of good run time at max brightness from it and it is easy to recharge it from a small battery bank or a wall charger. When charging, a red led is illuminated which changes to green when fully charged. It takes around an hour to fully charge from flat. A short charging cable is included. I got mine from Amazon for £8.99.
Link to Amazon below but at the time of writing (24/02/20) it appears to be out of stock.
We have had our turkey Tom, for a few years now but he is feeling a bit deflated of late. This is my attempt to revive him. A couple of smoke bombs and a good dousing of tent sealant left the bird a little happier!

Just thought I'd give you an update on my new saw the Evolution R210SMS 300.
All is well. I've been know to have a bit of a moan about how many cuts I get from each blade when cutting metal. Not this time. I've made over 100 cuts into 48mm scaffold tube and wood into the bargain and the blade is still going strong. I am impressed.

Hi, if you watched an earlier video of mine I tested a rather poor mains tester. Well today I'll try out one from a really well known manufacturer, Fluke.
Whilst the outcome in the video didn't quite meet my expectations I think I was asking a little too much as the fuse box is full of spurious energy which was bound to set off the tester. However it is still a very useful, non-contact device to test for energised circuits and defective grounds, whether it's for an electrician on the factory floor or the do-it-yourselfer around the house. It will be used whenever I'm fault finding on mains equipment. A DVM will of course be used for pin pointing the issue but the Volt Alert could set me in the right direction.
****Remember to always test the Volt Stick on a known live mains supply to make sure its working correctly.****
Fluke offer a 2 year warrantee and the Volt Stick comes with the required pair of AAA batteries so you are ready to go.

Hi, this is a quick follow-up video for the Evolution R255SMS-DB double bevel, mitre chop saw I unboxed a few weeks ago.
I've been using it to cut metal mainly but today I needed to cut some oak sleepers.
The saw is rated at 90mmx300mm cut so I was asking a little too much for it to cut a 100mm thick oak sleeper but it did nearly cut all the way though! I had to finish it off with a hand saw but that wasn’t a problem.
In the video after the wood cut, I show a couple of cuts of metal.
Would I recommend the saw? Yes, absolutely. I still need to see how long the blades last but so far so good.
Remember if you sign up to the Evolution newsletter on their web site and “like” them on Twitter and Face book you earn Evo points. I did this and saved over £30 on the purchase of this saw and stand. I couldn’t buy the saw cheaper anywhere else.

I've had a Ford 100e Anglia 2 door for a good few years now and to start with the "upgrades" went well until I bought a Land Rover. This is where everything slowed down!!
Today I dig the car out from the garage clutter and give you a quick tour of the engine which is incidentally a Ford 1600cc Crossflow married up to a type 9, 5 speed gear box.

This is the second video in the series showing the Deployable step project for my Defender TD5. I looked on the Web and just about every store but was unable to find what I needed so I ended up making them!
In this video I describe where the air compressor is to be mounted and show the control mechanism needed to operate the unit.
In future videos the control electronics and the completed steps will be covered.
Don't forget to give me a THUMBS UP and SUBSCRIBE. This gives me a boost to go onto making more content that I hope you will find interesting. Thanks. Hitting the notification bell will alert you to part 3 and other videos new to my channel.

I've owned a Land Rover Defender TD5 for a while now and I find access to the engine bay difficult because its so high. I need something to stand on to be able to get to reach in. I've used pallets in the past but I have now created something that will do the job safely and it was all made out of scrap I had around the workshop.
It did turn out a tad heavier than I would have liked but it saved over £50 on a commercially available one. So a result there!

I own a couple of Evolution circular saws and generally cut metal with them. The cut is usually great but I find the blade life is short even following Evolutions advice on how to approach the metal with the blade. Also there are some size limitations.
Hopefully I can reduce these issues with the purchase of my new Axminster MCB1155HD metal band saw.
In the video I run a few piece of metal and nylon through it and explain how I think it should be setup and run. Remember this is the first bandsaw I have owned so I'm still learning!

We have a Mini Cooper S 2litre petrol car and the battery is now claiming it needs changing. The on board computer system says it is low in the volts category and upon hand on testing the computer is found to be correct. In this video I show how I changed the battery. It's not as simple as it used to be as you will see. Links to the items used are listed below.
