Doing a little comparison test between Widowmaker and Ana today, first just checking out the damage, and how long it takes these two to kill these bots, which represent an average 200 health hero. First up is Widowmaker. With body shots, she can finish them off in 5 and a half to 6 seconds, depending on how long you hold the charge. I assume in a live-game, most of the time players will fully charge and try to get a one-shot kill by headshotting, so that's what I did. Killing both with headshots is obviously going to be about 3 seconds. So we can conclude that it takes about 1.5 seconds to fully charge a Widowmaker shot. One thing to keep in mind though, is that a headshot from a fully loaded shot deals 300 damage, making her able to one-shot most heroes in the game as long as it's in the head. And then we have the machine gun for closer encounters, but it's honestly not very impressive. With every bullet landing in the body area, which is highly unlikely in a live game, it takes 16 bullets to kill a target, which takes as long as one fully charged sniper round. To kill both bots would be more than double the time since you will need to reload. All headshots, which again is very unlikely, takes 8 bullets, and just under a second. Moving on to Ana, which will be much easier since she only has one weapon, no charge on it, and headshots don't make a difference. As you can see, it takes her 3 shots to kill a bot, which is about 2 seconds, 4 seconds for both. I kept my finger on the trigger and simple re-aimed in-between shots. Then of course, if you hit an ally you will heal them for 75 points, so even if you miss your target and hit an ally in a cluster of players, it will still do some good. So as far as damage goes, Ana is better as far as consistency, but in the hands of a very skilled player who can consistently headshot, Widowmaker will outdamage her. Widowmaker's Shift skill is a grappling hook which is very useful for getting to high vantage points to pick off targets. Ana's Shift skill is a sleep dart, which will keep enemies asleep for 5 seconds. This is a huge duration of time in a game as fast paced as Overwatch. But any damage they take will wake them up. Widowmakers E skill is a poison trap that will go off when an enemy gets near. The main problem I have with this is that it takes 5 seconds to deal the full 75 damage. If the damage was bumped up to 80 and it was instant, this would be an awesome skill, because then she could one-shot any trap triggering 200 HP hero, headshot or not. Ana's E skill is amazing for support, burst healing all allies in the radius for 100 HP, AND making healing of all types more effective for 5 seconds. If you throw it on enemies, not only will it cause a bit of damage, but they CAN'T be healed AT ALL for 5 seconds. Widowmakers Ultimate ability is useful for the whole team, but if you have a Hanzo on your team (and let's be honest you probably do) it makes her Ult much less useful since Hanzo can show locations much more often than Widowmaker can. Then there's the fact she announces pretty loudly her Ult is going off, giving enemies a chance to take cover. Ana's Ultimate ability is quite useful depending on the situation, giving one ally a huge buff to movement speed, damage and defense. Timing it with another ally's ultimate to make them a monster for a short time is most of what I've seen. All in all, I would say Ana is currently the better pick in most situations. If your team doesn't have a dedicated healer like Mercy, and you want to snipe, it's Ana all the way, in my opinion. Many people believe Widowmaker needs a buff, and I wholeheartedly agree there.
