Remember to subscribe ! I purchased a faulty HP5342A frequency counter from eBay, its functions were erratic, sometimes working, sometimes not, I cleaned all of the card edge connectors which fixed most of its issues. I then had to replace the sample rate pot on the front panel as it was broken, I found a pot that could be used on RS Components, BUT despite its value being marked as 1MOhm, it was actually only 775KOhm, so it caused another issue, the counter could not go into HOLD mode... So I modified the A17 board to allow for the different pot value in order to get it working (I couldn't be bothered playing pot value roulette).
