Still Report #807 - Iran's 1st Space Launch

According to Bill Gertz, one of the nation’s leading military affairs reporters, just days ago, Iran conducted its first space launch, citing anonymous defense officials.
Of course, this is yet another blatant violation of existing U.S. and UN sanctions, including the Iran Nuke deal which prohibits Tehran from conducting nuclear missile tests for 8 years, but what are we going to do about it? President Obama has never seen an Islamic dictatorship that he didn’t like.
The Simorgh launch vehicle apparently failed to reach orbit, but still it is yet another milestone in the development of the Islamic ICBM that can sooner than later threaten the U.S. with an incoming nuclear weapon. And as long as President Obama continues to reduce funding for a U.S. defensive missile shield, that leaves the nation with an inadequate defense against incoming ICBMs.
The large liquid-fueled rocket has been under surveillance by U.S. satellites for the last month and has been tracked since it was shipped from North Korea during negotiations of the Iran nuclear deal.
According to Adm. Bill Gortney, commander of the U.S. Northern Command, intelligence officials believe that Iran:
“May be able to deploy an operational ICBM by 2020.”
Well, good morning, President Trump. Welcome to the post-Obama world.
Rep. Mike Rogers, a Republican from Alabama, and chairman of the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic forces lambasted years of Obama’s cuts in missile defenses.
“America’s enemies know an opportunity when they see one; our allies see they are on their own. And the president proposed a nearly 10 percent reduction in missile defense compared to last year’s budget request. What does he think, the Iranians have a Simorgh ICBM on the launch pad because the mullahs want to go to the moon?”
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.
