Shitty, Run Down 1991-1993 US Soft Touch Hydraulic Elevator at Smoky Mountain Knife Works (Sevierville, TN)
This thing is in horrendous condition. Vandalized cab, garbage replacement mods on the inside, burnt out floor indicator, crappy leveling, this thing is a fuck fest. I don’t like mods, but I hope to god they redo this cab. Also, a replacement Universally Cheap Call Panel, that's all that needs to be said.

Here it is, the Infamous Kones at the Asheville AC Hotel by Marriott! I've been trying to film these for about a month now with no luck, but I had luck today, 10 shoots later...
Overall, these aren't absolutely terrible. The ride quality is fine for the most part. However, the main problem these have are technologically based. For instance, before I got on the first cab, the 2nd Cab going up was called installed, as seen in the first clip. And another time off camera, it has a preference to go the direction when it was recently called. When I rode this off camera, I was going down and it got called on another floor like it was going up. So instead of going all the way down, it stopped on a floor that was called recently and then went up when it was called originally to go down, meaning I had to wait longer to finally go down. Another issue is that these are constantly used, which may explain the glitchy-ness a bit.
Despite that, I expected much worse considering how some people overreacted to it. These aren't good overall and are very inconvenient, but I've seen FAR worse. If they fixed up those glitches, these would be much better. Also, why is that one cab unnecessarily DeInnovated with Innovation Universal? I will never understand.

This is the other Black Button Traction Elevator here. Compared to the lesser known letdown on the other side, this thing is MILES better!
The cab is in great shape and the fixtures are awesome! This thing feels fast and therefore, SUPER fun to ride! I was worried this was a modded cab as the First Floor had an EPCO Signapore? Call Panel with the Keycard Reader, but besides that everything else Original and in pristine condition! This thing also features weird pre leveling. Despite the clanky doors and the sketchy pre level, this is miles better than the other Black Button.
When I was here, the Otis Touch was sadly Triple O. The crappy Series 2 still works but I will have to refilm it and film the Touch when it works again. Who knows, maybe when this is uploaded, I may already filmed both of them. ?

This is the main passenger elevator here. Don't know if it's a newer add on or a full on replacement...
Whatever it is, I don't like it. It has one of my least favorite fixtures right next to MAD BS Classic, Innovation Universally Cheap (I somewhat "like" Early 1990's ones with the Older Fonts), both of which I absolutely hate seeing on "Slop On" Mods especially. Plus, this cab has this whole generic design. Surprisingly for a Generic Elevator, it has a nice motor for what it is. This was apparently installed by IECA in 2005, a company I've never heard of. No branding in the entire elevator, so I had to find info on NC Records.
FUN FACT: There's a 1983 ESCO Hydro? Freight Elevator with GAL JetPlus, but is not allowed to be ridden by the public of course...

As noted previously, One Centre Square pointlessly modded their Montys. However the sequel building, Two Centre Square, still has their original Montgomery Conventionals!
As I keep repeating, while Montgomery Conventionals are my least favorite Montgomerys made (its just rebadged Innovation Universally Cheap), they always have some charm to them, and these ones are nice!
For one, this the Pre 1993 Universal with the Bolder Fonts and they don't feel cheap on press or glitchy compared to Modern Universal buttons. The Cab designs are really nice and fancy too with a lot of character! This cab also features the VFD Indicators and working Bells! Not only that, these things have super loud motors and are fun to ride, and this is a damn 6 Story Traction elevator for goodness sakes! Once again, the fact that no one has filmed these is nonsensical because everyone is missing out on a hidden gem right here. Let's hope they don't mod these like they did with One Centre Square.

These are 2 different Series 5 NEL's installed one year apart from one another in two different buildings.
The first one is from 2004. It has the "Egg" Shaped Call Stations and has the Arrow Indication below the floor indicator. It is a bit low on oil, though not as major.
The other one is installed in Late 2005. Unlike the first one, this one has basic flat call stations most Standard Series 6's use much later in the fixture's lifespan, but has the Black Panel COP on the inside. Only difference is that there is no arrow indication, just the floor indicator. This one has a rough start up. Both of these are very cool finds, but they need some TLC in terms of operation.

Good lord this thing has seen better days. Just to put it in perspective since my IPhone Camera is trash, when the cab arrives on the upper floors, it bounces a bit before finally leveling. The Cab itself is also a bit aged and beaten up and the Call Panels are glitchy. I would call for a redesign of this cab (not a mod FYI, we don’t need more shitty Innovation mods), but the thing itself runs like shit anyways. This would be a nice elevator with a Rare Edge Lit Indicator as well if it wasn’t for those problem, but then again, this place is a dump.
