Just a little something different and to in a way follow Brian Aster and iHatchetJack's example, I try to get 5 live coals at once with a bow drill using Mimosa, Pine, Eastern Red Cedar, Poplar, and Hickory. As usual, this is from start to finish, however, for brevity, some parts are fast forwarded. To say the least, this was a difficult and tiring challenge. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2OZhshP_Ds
Many have been waiting with great anticipation for the JX6 to be released. The JX6 is the latest design from the brain of Chris Tanner of Preparedmind 101. This video is nothing more then a teaser of what it can do. The full review will be coming in a couple weeks after I get some real time put in behind it.

The Overland Machete is a Jack of All trades and a master at being a machete. Not only does it do an excellent job clearing bush, vines, small trees, and just generally blazing a trail, it does well at filling the slot of a regular blade as well. As the industry has come to expect, the 1075 steel's heat treat from LT is spot on and the spine is a very aggressive 90 degrees for scraping wood, bark, and a ferro rod. Many would say this could be a One Tool Option.

I get asked quite frequently what I think the best EDC folding knife is. EDC knives are a very personal thing but being what it is, we all love to debate this. Here is my personal choice for the Best EDC/Bushcraft folding knife. It is a CRKT M21-04. What drew me in was just how well the spine scraped sparks off a ferro rod as well as it's excellent carving profile and ability to be used as low friction bearing block for a bow drill. In my opinion it is an excellent choice for an EDC/Bushcraft folding knife, especially if you are a fire bug like myself.
Currently this blade (slightly different model with G10 scales) is $39.95 found here: http://amzn.to/1Vc54iy

A couple folks asked why I hadn't included the "in the kitchen" portion of the Wolfe Customs Razorback knife review I posted last week. The short answer is that my goal was a video of 30 minutes or less so I cut the kitchen test from the footage. Due to those several requests, here is that test.
