There has been a final deal reached between Amazon and EU antitrust regulators! The EU originally launched a probe into Amazon's use of data to give its own first-party products an advantage over independent third-party sellers. Under this settlement, Amazon has agreed to give competing products an equal treatment to be featured in the buy box (the box on the right-hand side of the Amazon product page used for customers to add items in their cart). By agreeing to this settlement, Amazon avoids a large fine and formal charges for its illegal activity.
