Want to know how to grow peas from seed to harvest? It is super easy for you to do in your very own garden! Follow along with Derica as she points out the soil, sunlight and watering requirements of peas. Tips on when and how to harvest, cooking and long term storage options as well as companion planting is all covered in this helpful pea growing tutorial. There is nothing more delicious (in my humble opinion) then home grown fresh peas! We hope this video on growing peas from seed to harvest encourages you to try it on your own.
Correction! I misspoke in regards to the "universal" pea planting time. Spring is more than likely a more common planting time for peas.

As a beginner gardener I often wondered, "What should I know about companion planting?" After a quick search on the internet and I was immediately overwhelmed by information that was often contradictory and complicated. In this video I attempt to demystify the concept of companion planting. I review it's uses in various gardening techniques and site historical references to this simple and natural way to diversify your garden. To aid you further, I have started to compile a companion planting guide for specific plants that you can find our our City-Steading blog here: https://city-steading.com/uncategorized/companion-planting/

Twisted Garlic Bread, my very own recipe. It's a way to make garlic bread without having to add the garlic and herbs inside the bread. This can retard gluten formation and make the bread tougher. Using olive oil and butter in the topping makes it flavorful. The garlic bread itself is my typical dough, I use it to make bread, focaccia, and pizza. This twisted garlic bread is a great accompaniment to pasta, lasagna or even a steak dinner!
