Today, I simply HAD to talk about the BBC's coverage of this morning's Summer Solstice at Stonehenge.
This is a short film I produced in conjunction with Segedunum Roman fort and Museum in Wallsend (TWMA).
It is part of the British Museum's 'Talking Objects' endeavour which encourages people to engage with an artefacts in their local museum.
In this case, I worked with a diverse group of people from Wallsend to construct our group's reaction and thoughts regarding a shrine of Mercury found at Segedunum during an archaeological excavation in 1984. This is an extremely rare object, only three like-finds are known across the Roman Empire!
The film is meant to invoke the emotions, feelings and the importance which a portable object like the shrine would have evoked in its owner.
