We're repaving at the moment so we decided to move this wall mounted pipe underground. We rented a core drill from @KennardsHire1948 and got to work!

In this episode I experiment with Open AI's Dall-E 2 artificial intelligence image generator to create a banner for our Youtube channel. The system works by taking a description that you provide and the AI generates an image based on reference images and some sort of magic algorithm.
We had some misses at the start but as we fine tuned our description, we came up with amazing imagery. The final graphic outcome is beautiful however Dall-E only generates a square image so we made some minor adjustments in Photoshop to generate our Youtube banner.

Have you ever wanted to make a YouTube video but didn’t know where to start? We’ll demystify the process and show you that it is very easy and anyone with a smartphone can make a professional video quickly and easily. For this demonstration Gene and I head to the Science Gallery in Carlton (and Lauren Carney's MC Mart) to get video footage for this video. If you're in Melbourne we highly recommend you check out the exhibition on mental health as it is a must see!
Grab that smartphone out of your pocket and you're ready to make your first video. Follow the 10 editing steps in this video and you too will be making YouTube videos in no time.
So now that you know how to film and edit, what do you need to do next? Get out there and make your first video and upload it to YouTube. This may sound simple but this in itself is the biggest challenge as we all have a desire to do things right. I was very anxious when making my first video as I didn’t want to look stupid or put out something out that wasn’t perfect. The reality is that no one is perfect at the start.
Go to any YouTube channel and sort their videos from oldest to newest videos. You’ll see that even the biggest channels had a humble beginning. We need to cherish this and know that with persistence and hard work we can learn new things, improve and grow as content creators and also as individuals. The making and posting of your first YouTube video is the biggest obstacle. Your video isn’t going to be perfect. There’s going to be a lot of issues but you’ll never start if you don’t make your first video and share it with others.
Okay so I’ve uploaded my first video but it’s not getting any hits. What next? Congratulations, you’ve overcome the first hurdle and posted your first video. Feel free to post a comment below and link your video as I’d love to see it!
Start by subscribing to other channels that you enjoy and analyse their videos. How do they light their shots, frame their shots, use music, use graphics, voice-overs, text, and pace their videos? Take notes and try and implement those techniques in your next video. With each video you should aim to improve over your last video. After a few videos you’ll start to get into the swing of making videos and develop your own approach and get a feel for what works best for you.
The goal of your video should be to respect and appreciate every viewer who took the time to click on your video. Edit the videos in a way that is concise and to the point so the information is delivered clearly and without wasting their time.
YouTube is full of talented creators making amazing videos so the competition for viewers is very high. You’ll need to be competitive and focus your attention on making videos for the viewers: your audience comes first.Your viewers should come away from your video entertained, satisfied, or learning something new.
So that’s how to make your first YouTube video. I only just started on my youtube journey as well so If you enjoyed this video please make sure to leave a thumbs up and consider subscribing to my channel and leave a comment as I'm always up for a chat or to share ideas. I wish you all the best on your YouTube journey and I'll catch you next time.

The base of this architrave & door jamb has been bugging me for years so I finally tackled the repair project. It took much longer than I thought! Using a scrap offcut as the replacement architrave, I cut grooves with a track saw to different depths then chiseled and finally smoothed with a hand plane.

In this video we will continue with the prototyping process for a proof of concept of an adjustable height cart. Whilst I was happy with the smooth movement provided by the 4 x drawer slides that were positioned vertically, I wasn't happy with the spinning disc mechanism from the previous episode. It was cumbersome, noisy, and took a lot of rotations to move the table top just a bit (as the threads were fine rather than course).
I took a 'winging it' approach by spending time in my workspace and addressing a few things. I started with the table height lock, which used two independent bolts on either side of the cart. I wanted a simpler single knob that could be twisted to lock the table. The second item was the lift mechanism. I started by testing out a lever action but was having issues with binding and also couldn't get the location of the pivot or shape quite right. I went back to the computer but then... AHA! How about a car jack? I grabbed the one in my car and gave it a go, and it worked!

Due to concerns with longevity of the Jesmonite countertops I recently made for a bakery, I made new countertops that look very similar but are much more durable.
Shapes were routed in to the white HDPE panels and a drill used to create holes on angles. The shapes are then filled with liquid epoxy resin, left to harden and sanded flush. Stay tuned for an update after the final installation :)
