The addon system in FlgihtGear hasn't matured yet and is plagued by all kinds of geeky weirdness... Today, I'm going to demystify one of them; How to actually install and activate them?

Adding extra airports to FlightGear is a rather simple task. This video walks you through the process, as well as gives you a couple of pointers.

It's a well-known fact that planes fly because their wing has speed relative to the wind, then Bernoulli's principle kicks in or whatever. What this pays no attention to is the wind's speed relative to the ground, demonstrated here by keeping planes suspended in the air at near-zero ground speed because the pitot tube still reads a nice and fast 70.

I set up a webcam-based headtracking system on the Windows side of my computer. It turns out that it takes some getting used to.
A very low cost video since I have to dedicate my time to other matters at the moment!

FGCom-mumble is a powerful tool, but playing around with it (or debugging it) can be a complete hassle if we have to do all of it with FlightGear. Luckily, the creators of the program has us covered with the cross-platform RadioGUI, which allows us to feed in almost any state - sensible or not!
Correction: The Oracle people have not been releasing standalone JREs for new Java versions for a while now, and the last version to have one will be reaching EOL soon. I'm... not sure how to deal with that. Are all the peeps using and making .jar-s expected to download the whole JDK? Or use OpenJDK, which still releases runtime-only packages for Linux? Or maybe something else entirely??
Thanks to benih, the lead creator of FGCom-mumble, for requesting this video!
