Stan, the harmonica player just tossed this one off so I didn't know what to name it. Stan's nickname is 'The Baron,' so I thought I'd name the song after him. If anyone knows the name, let me know.

One thing I neglected to mention, (well, there were a few things, actually), is regarding the moment when we spoke about the influence of this record on the next decade to come, the Seventies. Also connected is the idea of the production value and musicianship behind the song that brought it to the heights it reached. If 'Something' hadn't been produced so well and if the musicianship--from George's solo, to Ringo's awesome drumming, to Paul's sublime bass melodies--it may not have been as remarkable as it became. So, another important influence on the Seventies from this record is ?????????? ?????.
When you look at the music of say, Elton John during the Seventies, the production level and the work ethic behind it is so pristine that it shimmers. So, Abbey Road didn't just influence the way people ????? music but also the way they actually ???????? it.
James and I had a great time discussing this song. Here are some links for you:
First, shout out to Matt Williamson. Do check out 'Pop Goes The 60's.' This is not just about Beatles music but generally the incredible flowering of the Pop Music form during that era. In fact, I've said it before that the compositions of the 60's and 70's never attained the status of say, great classic Jazz in terms of academic respect. But when you go deep into the chord movements, melodies and production of that music, it well deserves to be raised to the status that Jazz attained. In a different way, perhaps, but from one angle, every bit as sophisticated.

"Sleigh Ride" is a light orchestra standard composed by Leroy Anderson. The composer had the original idea for the piece during a heat wave in July 1946 and finished the work in February 1948. According to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) review of Christmas music, "Sleigh Ride" consistently ranks as one of the top 10 most-performed songs written by ASCAP members. ASCAP named "Sleigh Ride" the most popular piece of Christmas music in the U.S. in 2009–2012, based on performance data from over 2,500 radio stations.
This was clipped from Amazing Polly's recent video called 'The Global Health Mafia Protection Racket.' (Link below.) You've seen them a million times by now on YouTube. You know the ones were hundreds of newscasters are reciting word-for-word a script that they are directed to speak. Well, how about leaders of countries doing the very same thing??? It makes you wonder. Probably the newscasters get their scripts from 'corporate' and 'corporate' gets their scripts from abc agencies. That much is obvious. But who exactly is extorting these politicos to read scripts? It has to be a very powerful organization. Heed this: we are at the precipice of grave danger. It's coming in fast and something has to be done to stop these psychotics. I keep looking for hope in all this but it appears to be less and less available. I don't believe in street protests because those, like say, for example, the Occupy movement, got infiltrated and steered out of the picture. Something has to be done and it has to be done soon or we're all seriously fucked.
Here is Amazing Polly's video link. Do subscribe to her. She does some very pertinent research.
