Saturday Night Baseball with L1011Widebody: Game 71
Game 71 - Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Indians. Cleveland record 46-23
Due to technical problems, there's no commentary from me for 14 minutes on or so. So enjoy Duane Kiper and Mike Krukow unabridged. Or something. Yeah, wacky weirdness happens. I was hesitant to upload this video at all, but I decided I may as well use the footage and the game going, rather than throwing it all away. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c4WjMZi7Js
Escorting B-29s that don't really need to be escorted, apparently...
Hey, you guys like my Let's Plays, Longplays, Writing, and other random things I do, right? Maybe you'd consider sponsoring me on Patreon? All I ask is a $1 a month contribution. It doesn't sound like a lot, but if enough of you guys help out it will go a long way. Head over to patreon.com/l1011widebody if you want to help a Trijet out.

"This dude has a bevy of pitches in his arsenal."
"He sure does. Most of them are kind of almost good."

The Allies campaign, missions 1 through 4... uh, the Time Travel one, Hollywood and Vain, Seattle, and then Egypt. Only remixed. And holy frig is the AI now ruthless as hell in missions 2 and 3.

All right, listen up comrades. This is a mod I've been working on for a few weeks that takes everything I love about Red Alert 2 and makes it better, more awesome, and more fun. I call it Red Alert 2 Remix, because it's basically just taking what Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge already has and adjusting it and re-tooling it into so much more coolness. I hope you enjoy!

Ravenholm has nothing on Wolfenburg.
Iron Storm is an alternate-history type first person shooter that takes place in a universe where World War I continued because the Bolshevik Revolution failed. It's notorious for its difficulty, but I find the setting and backstory quite fascinating.

I thought I would kickstart this whole airliner journey with me playing a mod i love of a game I loved. Even if the AI tramples all over me...

In which we use crazy awesome tactics and strategy because WE CAN DAMNIT THIS IS WHY REAL TIME STRATEGY GAMES SUCK NOW
After their first surprise hit, Westwood Studios upped the ante with Command & Conquer: Red Alert. A landmark game in the annals of gaming history, Red Alert introduces to the commander all new naval and air units, including strike fighters. All of this is just so great, and it was released right around the time internet gaming was picking up. Back in my day, there were tons of skirmish matches being played all over the globe. Cool or what?
Of course this is not to denigrate the single-player campaign. Westwood rolled all the dice with having an actual Stalin actor. And the cut-scenes are just much more than the original C&C could deliver... really, Red Alert is essentially 'Command & Conquer: More Edition'.
The great thing about Command & Conquer contrasting to other real time strategy games, is that the sides are not balanced at all. The Allies have all the naval ships, the Soviets get all the cool air power, the Soviets have big damn tanks and the Allies... don't? And the base defenses... this game made the Tesla Coil iconic. It is really great in all the ways.
I will be playing through the DOS version (or maybe not) because I have the original discs and such, suck it Origin. And man is this gonna be some fun or what!

A post-nuclear courier adventure.
This time I'm going to be playing not just Fallout 2, Interplay's sequel to the smash hit RPG Fallout, but I'm also going to be playing the Restoration Project. The Restoration Project is a mod created by the No-Mutants-Allowed user Killap, designed to add back in much of the content that was cut from Fallout 2 due to time constraints. It also fixes multiple bugs and adds some additional graphics features.
Your home, the village of Arroyo, is dying. The tribe founded by the original Vault Dweller from Fallout needs you to venture into the Wasteland to retrieve the fabled Garden of Eden Creation Kit, a device said to 'bring life to the Wasteland'. Along the way you'll meet more strange mutants, unique characters, and even some old friends. You'll even get a chance to revisit some of the locations from Fallout 1... but the Wasteland has changed in the last 80 years...
