Drone video of Coccothrinax boschiana in habitat, Dominican Republic
Coccothrinax boschiana, commonly known as the Barrera Silver Palm.
The only place in the world where the Coccothrinax boschiana palm grows is on this isolated limestone cliff on the Barahona Peninsula, Dominican Republic.
Thanks to Leonel A. Mera for guiding us to this beautiful place.

Taking a break from palms and going back to my roots. The River Stour, Dedham Vale, whose beauty was captured by the great 19th Century painter John Constable, and which marks the boundary between Essex and Suffolk, was the place where I spent the majority of my childhood.

Chamaerops humilis cerifera and Phoenix dactylifera in their natural habitats in the High Atlas Mountains.
Most of the Silver Chamaerops one sees in habitat is very low ground cover, but occasionally, on steep slopes or in stream beds you can see some with several feet of trunk. They tend to be most common at elevations between 4,000-5,000 feet.
Locations:
Paradise Valley
Ida Ou Tanane (the branch of the Atlas Mountains that meet the Atlantic Ocean)
The Souss Valley
The Tizi n Test mountain pass in the High Atlas (between Taroudant and Marrakesh)
In the far West of Cuba, close to the seaside town of Cortés lies a sandy savanna habitat that is home to 3 native palm species: Copernicia glabrescens var. glabrescens, Coccothrinax acuminata, and Acoelorrhaphe wrightii, commonly known as the Paurotis Palm, or in the USA, the Everglades Palm. But what distinguishes these Paurotis Palms, is that unlike those commonly found throughout the Caribbean, there is also a blue leaved form, which only grows in this area. The Paurotis palm in this region is also more robust, with a thicker trunk and leaves. There are also some non-clumping solitary examples which I have never seen in any other Paurotis habitats.
