Kerbal Space Program - How To Setup A Geostationary Communications Network
Geostationary orbit is easy enough, but I get a lot of requests to make a video about geostationary orbits. So here's a video where I launch an 3 satellite comms network with the correct altitude and spacing using a single launcher. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3FHOQFVV0k
I'm not insane.
I'm not an Addict.
However a confluence of circumstances have resulted in me spending the equivalent of $30,000 on a single space ship in the video game 'Eve Online'. I didn't spend real money, but game money I'd acquired in years past. However the developers of the game will convert this into real world money as a donation to charity.
The ship isn't the most powerful, it's not going to make me unbeatable, in fact it's probably going to sit around unused until I can figure out how to move it somewhere safe. It is a rare spacecraft with only 2 remaining in the game, and it was put up for auction with the proceeds going to PLEX 4 Good.

After fixing the save file my space probes finally reach Venus, however an error in the navigation commands messes up one flypast. The second does make it into orbit and begins the long process of surveying the planet.

Space engine provides the biggest and most beautiful explorable universe out there, you literally can go anywhere in the known universe, and discover places that nobody else has. It was just updated with some new features and improvements, so I thought I'd fly around looking for new things.

I took advantage of the free weekend on steam and gave this a bit of a play, and ended up reminiscing on the history of the Civilization series and spin offs.

Yes, we got both Everyday Astronaut, myself and many others in the same room to watch SpaceX's SuperHeavy Booster test. This was part of an event to preview Kerbal Space Program Two, so it was entirely coincidental.
We now have updates on a couple of failures this year, a return to flight of White Knight 2. New private spaceflight participants and a bunch of people waiting for an asteroid to touch down hours after discovery.

Detached is another VR title that puts you in a space suit, floating around and solving problems. It's been in early access for a while and is finally getting a full release with the story fleshed out. The one thing that sets this apart from other similar 'spacewalking' titles is the PVP mode which allows 2 players to capture the flag and help induce motion sickness in their antagonist.

NASA's Discovery program works with universities to develop low cost missions to solar system targets. Yesterday they announced 4 finalists from the latest batch VERITAS, DAVINCI+, Io Volcano Observer, and Trident. These missions cover Venus, Io and Triton with launches in the 2020's. However the award only covers designing the mission and only 2 are expected to proceed to actual mission status.

No, I don't destroy one, just do the math:
Some people need Fidget Spinners to distract them, Instead I do math about weird things, like how fast can these things go before we expect them to break....
Beyond the Press actually tested my numbers and I'm really happy at how close they were:
