The construction of the Bavaria Beer Factory attracted a lot of workers from near neighborhoods to La Macarena, and because it was difficult to them to transport from their homes to their places of work, they started living in the neighborhood La Perseverancia, or as it is call nowadays “El Barrio Obrero” (The Worker’s Neighborhood) .
