Title: Star Wars_ The Force Unleashed
Author: Sean Williams
File Type: Mobi
Subject:Science-Fiction:Star Wars
Description:Along with the comic, it features the storyline of the game and the fate of Darth Vaders apprentice at the end of the book. Although the game has multiple endings, the book and comic follow the sole canonical ending. Along with the comic, the books release was timed around the release of the game.
There are differences between the novel and the game. For instance, during Starkillers mission to Imperialized Raxus Prime, the plot of the novel diverges from the plot of the video game, in that a giant computer, known only as The Core, gains control over PROXY, and uses PROXY to attack Starkiller, making PROXY assume the form of Darth Maul (although this plot point was included in the Nintendo DS version of the game). In the game, PROXY attacks Starkiller, sensing the best opportunity to fulfill his primary programming.

Title: Leaves of Grass
Author: Walt Whitman
File Type: Mobi
Subject:classics
Description:
The poet in Whitman developed late and slowly while his early writings came only from the surface of his mind. But when he was scarcely in his teens he was publishing bits in Brooklyn papers and presently in George P. Morriss New York Mirror. At twelve he became an apprentice printer, the first occupation of a dozen writers who were more or less of Whitmans time. Whitman retained the interest in printing that he had acquired as a little boy standing on type-cases to reach the boxes. In old age he always knew the easiest way out of printers puzzles, as his disciple Horace Traubel said, and he watched his proofs with anxious eye, ready to add or omit a line in cases where a page struck him as too loose or crowded. He did not love his line enough to let them spoil the page he said, and once sacrificed nine for a blank space. He would send silver dollars with thanks to the proof takers for giving him clean dark proofs on paper that he liked. But while, in his boyhood, Whitman was a printer who was also beginning to write, his real occupation was absorbing impressions, historical impressions, among the rest, that attached him deeply from the first to the past and evolution of the country.
Title: The War of the Worlds
Author: H. g. Wells
File Type: Mobi
Subject:Science-Fiction
classics
Description:
This is the granddaddy of all alien invasion stories, first published by H.G. Wells in 1898. The novel begins ominously, as the lone voice of a narrator tells readers that No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's...Things then progress from a series of seemingly mundane reports about odd atmospheric disturbances taking place on Mars to the arrival of Martians just outside of London. At first the Martians seem laughable, hardly able to move in Earth's comparatively heavy gravity even enough to raise themselves out of the pit created when their spaceship landed. But soon the Martians reveal their true nature as death machines 100-feet tall rise up from the pit and begin laying waste to the surrounding land. Wells quickly moves the story from the countryside to the evacuation of London itself and the loss of all hope as England's military suffers defeat after defeat. With horror his narrator describes how the Martians suck the blood from living humans for sustenance, and how it's clear that man is not being conquered so much a corralled.
Title: 10 LB Penalty
Author: Dick Francis
File Type: Mobi
Subject:Mystery
Description:Amazon.com ReviewOne of the most impressive aspects of Dick Francis's long and celebrated career (he's won three 10 Lb. Penalty Francis adds several new arrows to his quiver. His protagonist, Ben Juliard, narrates the tale in a vivid first person that begins in his insecure late teens instead of the settled middle age of the usual Francis hero. Also, Ben's relationship with horses is more of a fading dream than an active reality. The book begins with Ben's expulsion from Vivian Durridge's stables; he's removed with a false accusation of glue sniffing. But as Ben soon discovers, it is, in fact, his powerful father's machinations that are behind his ill fortunes. The elder Juliard is standing for Parliament, and the bachelor candidate needs his son by his side for a year of campaigning if he hopes to win. Ben accedes to his father's wishes. He almost always has, but he soon finds that his gap year--his year before entering college--is going to be a nightmare. Orinda Nagle, the widow of the recently deceased Hoopwestern MP, and her companion, Alderney Wyvern, resist George's campaign from the start. Then, Usher Rudd, a muckraking journalist, turns his vitriol to George. When an attempt is made on George's life, he and his son find themselves inside a vigorous tale of suspense that takes several narrative years to sort out.Francis's lucid prose is the driving force in this political mystery, and the realistic rendering of the complicated father-son relationship between George and Ben adds a sophistication and weight that marks the author's best fiction. --Patrick O'KelleyFrom Library JournalMore murderous horseplay from the prolific Francis.br 1997 Reed Business Information, Inc.
