On April 30th, 2015, Wendy Bowcott and the rest of 'CFS You're Fired' showed up at Manitoba Legislative Building for a rally. Happening at the same time was the budget meeting. Wendy and the other great activists waited outside of the doors and spoke to nearly every politician and reporter who walked out. Of those spoken to, there was Mayor Brian Bowman, Rana Bokhari (head of the Liberal Party in Manitoba), Wayne Ewasko (MLA), Ben Miljure (CTV News), Matt Allard (St. Boniface City Councilor), Ian Wishart (MLA), Jeff Keele (CTV News), Sean Kavanagh (CBC News), Peter Koroma who works with Dr. Jon Gerrard (MLA and former head of the Liberal Party in Manitoba) and several others! Wendy Bowcott had just that morning released her new book on Amazon. Several of the politicians claimed they would read it. We will see in the near future if their word was true. Greg Selinger and Kerri Irvin-Ross hid inside the Legislative Building and seemed to leave the building out another door. Kerri Irvin-Ross was supposed to speak on April 28th to the community at the Indian Friendship Centre on Selkirk avenue across the street from the iconic North End Bell Tower. She was supposed to start the talk at 7pm and take questions from concerned citizens but come 7:45pm she still was not there. She did not call to cancel, she didn't message, nothing. One of her representatives sent her "sincere" apologies the next day. The issue was brought to her attention in session to which she didn't seem to care. There is no transparency, there are no answers. The current CFS and Family Court system is one of the most absurd systems in Manitoba, and that's saying a lot. We thank all of the hard working CFS activists for their commitment to the issue. We cannot allow another child to be raped, beaten or killed, on the street, in a hotel, in a foster home, ANYWHERE.
