North Peak decent (on route) WA State This was my first time rock climbing (scrambling ). I'm told we were off route going up and we were often times in class 4-5 range of difficulty. My work boots gripped pretty good. Wished I had gloves and pants. At age 57, in Covid-19 couch condition this turned out to be the most maximum thing I have every experienced! I "prayed/requested" for a download (similar to in the movie Matrix) of how to be an excellent rock climber. It worked, but I had to face my fear of falling/dying many times and press on. The descent back on the "normal route" was incredibly welcome. Hiking down class 4-5 requires seeing what is below you. Unassisted and the Will to complete the Swallowtail Peak Ascent with brute, bike and skill. At 59 My successful effort had no magic restart button...some pretty precarious positions surfaced for the several kickstarts!
