Hardspace: Shipbreakers is a new game by Blackbird Interactive where the objective is to break down the hulls of derelict spacecraft and salvage as much of the valuable materials as possible.
Available from the Steam Store today: https://bit.ly/2AlVJ6h
You're a shp breaker working in zero-g inside a ship breaking facility in Earth orbit, with a selection of sci-fi tools at your disposal, but even with the tools it's a lot of hard, dangerous work as you cut into the hulls of derelict ships, so you can isolate the valuable parts. Cutting in the wrong place might mean rupturing a pressure hull, tearing open a fuel tank or triggering a minor nuclear incident that makes a giant mess that's hard to salvage.
This video was sponsored by BlackBird Interactive (thanks!)
The game is being released on Early Access with plans for future content updates to expand the ship designs, mechanics and stories.

The first SLS core stage is complete, with 4 engines attached, 4 Engines which are older than the SLS program, indeed some of them are older than people working on the program. The first 4 launches will use the remaining 16 Block II engines built for the Space Shuttle - some of which have had long careers.

STS-114 Return to flight - I just happened to find some portrait format video of this and thought this was a rare case where a Short actually made sense.

Rods from God was a space weapon concept that involved dropping 'Telephone pole' size tungsten projectiles onto target on earth.... The original concept was attributed to Jerry Pournelle who went on to be a successful sci-fi author, and also an investor in Rotary Rockets Inc.

Fixed all the audio, not sure how that happened, but since you had to see it I'm going to offer up a prize of a free game (on steam) from my collection if gifts to the person that can guess the book that I'm thinking of which features a weapon system like this.
Winner has been picked! The Book I'd been thinking of was Footfall by Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle

Perseverance had 6 engineering cameras on it which were active during descent and landing to document the process in more detail than we'd ever seen before. The engineers had never seen their skycrane at work before since it was impossible to test on Earth.
In the end only 5 of the cameras worked, and the microphone failed to record anything during the descent. But the results are still spectacular!

Actually landing is going to be the hardest skill you have to learn, because you can't pause to think things through.

We're still waiting for the planets to align to go out and get more science, instead we entertain ourselves by attempting to clone NASA's Space Shuttle, which is of course hard to do for all sorts of technical reasons. But this is a pretty good approximation.
