I tried chasing a 5" in my Aurora 100 in it's original incantation, but the camera wasn't up to the job. Now the RunCam Micro Swift is in there though, I can actually see and so had a good time getting a bit of a chase on.
Lots of gusty wind + bent props didn't always make for the smoothest flight, but a fun one nevertheless. Quads and planes are a bit different in chase flights in that often a quad is easier to spot against the blue sky, but not against grass, and with planes it's the opposite. Sometimes he's hard to spot, but you get the hang of what to look for.

After blowing 2 LittleBee 20a ESCs and my pz0420m camera, this is the first few flights (my 4th lipo, but they only go for 3 minutes) on this quad. It's got the same LittleBee 20A ESCs - I simply replaced these as I think I have a reasonable understanding of why these blew, but the camera is now an HS1177 as I thought it may be easier to vary my tilt.
Well, it needs some tuning - looks fairly good at low speed, but gets some oscillations at higher throttle. I had thought TPA was not in use in the rewrite PID setting on cleanflight any longer, but I couldn't see that in the docs, so I'll have a go at messing with that.
Despite the odd wobble at high rpm, the quad feels very locked in and is a joy to fly :) Must get some more 4s lipos, I've only got 4 and you burn through them pretty quickly !

The nice people at Firefly fixed the OSD issue with the camera, and you can get the new firmware here (direct download link)

So in summary - yes you can get it in a gimbal, but you have to make a very small USB adapter (I couldn't find a small 90 degree one) but it really is more hassle than it should be

This is my (PAL) Mega-CD I picked up several years ago off eBay... although this was supposedly "tested", I later found out from the seller that this part wasn't and he assumed it was ok. So I ended up getting a few quid in a refund, but it really doesn't work. I think I've managed to get it fired up once properly, and since then nothing.
I've blown and replaced the internal fuse, and I've replaced all the capacitors as I read they can get a bit flakey. About every 6 months I decide to have another go at fixing it, but I've run out of ideas and/or expertise in what to do next... can anyone suggest anything.
The video I've got here shows what happens when I turn it on, basically it seems to freeze before the full BIOS sequence has run. We should get the Sega logo bouncing around.
I also turned it off to change my Megadrives switches to 60hz/NTSC region, just to show that the Mega-CD can at least recognise if it's attached to what it thinks is a US system in stead of a UK one

After last weeks Mobula6 review I had a lot of comments about using JESC to get better flight times, so I thought I'd take a look and do a direct comparison.
In another unlisted video, I put the two raw BLHeli_S and JESC flights on the same screen to compare. It's quite useful for seeing that the JESC just holds that extra 0.1v longer. You can watch it here https://youtu.be/NpNVKn-uqf0

I'm very lucky at the moment to have a whole bunch of new kits to build. This is the next iteration in G Collin's Wii Wing, adding the central fins to give more stability as well as the idea of laminating in duck tape to add strength.
If you are after a Wii Wing 2, the best place to send a message to G is via this thread at http://www.fpvhub.com/index.php/topic,51495.0.html

I had today scheduled as a flying day because when I checked the forecast last week it was a beacon of sun and low wind surrounded by rain and wind. However, today rolled around and the wind picked up quite significantly. But given the next week is even worse, I thought I'd give it a go anyway.

This is the nicest bundle I've seen for a while for an indoor quad, coming with 5 decent lipos a charging board, and a choice of colours. Let's find out how it flies.
Banggood were kind enough to send this over to me for review.
Here's their (affiliate) link to the product https://www.banggood.com/KINGKONG-TINY7-75mm-Micro-FPV-Quacopter-With-720-Brushed-Motors-Baced-on-F3-Brush-Flight-Controller-p-1134636.html?p=E81211714085201408XQ&utm_campaign=714085&utm_content=3312
To be a great indoor quad, there's a certain amount of compromise over how well it will perform outdoors. This is a great indoor quad, but a small whiff of wind will throw it all over the place. The ET100 is a quad that handles the wind outside, and does well inside, but you won't quite be able to squeeze it in the tiny gaps.
You best solution is to have quads dedicated for indoors and quads dedicated for outdoors. That's really the only way to get the best of both conditions.

It really is a little marvel. You can literally share FPV with everybody, just hand them over the goggles, radio and watched their faces as they drive around :)
