Piddle In The Marsh, N Gauge Model Railway 32. Please read description.
Class 35 Hymek with some horn emerges from a bore of the Holes of Whorecum with a Blue Circle Cement train and rounds the tree lined curve to Lickey End halt. Hidden behind the trees the members of Lickermoor Nudist Club enjoy the sun. The Hymek then plunges into the damp of Percy's Passage. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJc62FOleqQ
Welcome back to Piddle In The Marsh. Please note I now have to tell you that This video is unsuitable for children as it contains Nudity (Lickermoor Nudist Club Camp, next to Licky End Halt). This is due to a stupid law from the USA. Parents should police what their children see and not YouTube!
Rant over.
Basically just a short running session with the Class 47, Grey Friars Bobby pulling loaded Yeoman hoppers while a Class 52 Western Campaigner takes the empties back to the quarry. A very noisy Hymek (class35) adds to the sound from the 47 as it hauls the cement train around.

Hello and a BIG thank you to all of you who have subscribed to Piddle In The Marsh.
Now when I started putting video up on YouTube it was the idea of my friend John Davies so he and my family could see the layout I was building With John being in Chesterfield and myself in Somerset it was an excellent idea. Never did I expect what was to follow.
Unknown to me Uncle Wilmer of Indian Head Valley Railway had seen my layout and gave the channel a shout out on his "Not Bad" series.
I wondered what had happened as my phone exploded with notifications of new subscribers saying Wilmer had said it was a good layout from people I didn't know. Then three days later the same thing happened because Vinny at BNSF 6951 did the same thing. My subscribers more than doubled in a week. So thank you Wilmer and Vinny.
But it should be a thank you to everyone who has subscribed to my channel and continues to watch the goings on at Piddle In The Marsh.
Never did I suspect so many people would be interested in a N Scale model railway.
Okay my railway is a little different with the Nudist Camp and the Innuendo place names and the stories that followed but this was a bit of fun amongst family and friends but it seems to be enjoyed around the railway world by so many.
This lead to the birth of another Channel
"The Innocent Tales of Piddle Folk"
which as of today 24th October 2021 has
15 stories on. These started on Twitter and will continue on there when brand new stories happen. The YouTube ones are longer versions of the Twitter ones with a closer look at the layout where the stories are about.
This has resulted in Piddle In The Marsh having an Register of Names and addresses so I don't get them wrong.
How many model railways have that?
So at the end of the video I showed my Ugly Mug and announced a give away of a book for any of my subscribers who would like it.
To enter you have to send me
1. Your Name
2. Your Phone Number
3. Send the above details to

All the tracks are now wired up and operational. An engine shed and signal box have been purchased for the steam locomotives and sidings/locomotives storage line.
The suggestion is that this area should be called "Jack Inner Box" and "Jack Inner Box Sidings" ! Not sure on this yet but they are the best so far and fits in with the rest of the layout quite nicely.
The points are going to be DCC operated in this new section because of the distance from the control panel and it will allow the operator to stand by and see what's happening if necessary.
I will be using the Peco Smart Switch system which I will report back on when fitted. I have two kits to get on with (8 servos) but more are needed. Hope Puffer Willie's has some more in stock !!!!!.
Hope you are finding this of interest.
I will post another update when I have made some more progress but for now it's run trains over the new lines to prove they are okay. So far so good, touch wood (touching my head quickly).
Until next time.

I had a fair bit of interest in my previous motor replacement and was asked to show it in more detail. So here is the step by step of how I remove the old broken Dapol Motor and replace it with a Tramfabriek one.
I don't have the equipment to video the job so I have taken a picture a step which hopefully you be able to follow.
Tools required are
small cross head screw driver
tweezers
super glue to glue the fly wheels on
soldering iron with a pointed tip.
Any questions please feel free to ask me.
Tramfabriek contact details below
www.tramfabriek.nl
info@tramfabriek.nl
Tramfabriek is actually in the UK and has given excellent service with order being delivered on about three days.
The motor is far quieter than the Dapol original and is superior at slow speeds.

Saturday 7th August and one of my beloved Hydraulics is running today, Class 35 Hymek D7018 of The DEPG and as always when I get the chance to follow the train it rains, no let's be honest, it poured down as can be seen clearly in the first clip at Stogumber Station.
This is why my finger is briefly in shot removing water.
In the third clip the rain had stopped but I was not prepared for the tree to dump water off it's leaves, down my neck, and to run down my spine. How I kept silent I don't know but it did cause me jump somewhat.
Clips are
1 Stogumber Station
2 Sampford Brett
3 Crowcombe Heathfield
4 Eastcombe
5 Montys Lane Bridge looking North
6 Montys Lane Bridge looking South
7 Stogumber Station
The still is because the man in Orange obviously wanted to be famous for 3 seconds.
Thanks to the staff at Stogumber Station who are really friendly and I have to give do some Advertising for them.
Do stop at the station, don't just pass through, it is the most tranquil and beautiful spot. The gardens are fantastic and to sit it the peace and quiet between trains and eat one of The Station Cream Teas is pure Heaven !

It's been an expensive week at Piddle In The Marsh !
Hello and welcome to this short update.
So last weekend I decided to have a run with my layout and as I had the house to myself, plenty of noise was going to happen.
Everything started off well but as I changed a route to allow another train out, there was a big Pop or Bang from under Lappingwell Station and everything stopped dead.
I had no choice the covers had to be removed from under the layout. It took a while to find the offending part because I expected it to be one of the more expensive bits of the DCC control. But no a simple Gauge master point motor had decided not be a motor.
So a repair was necessary.
Now if I had understood DCC when I built the layout all the points would have been DCC but it seemed to be like the Masons, a secret society and it's secrets were well kept.
But I understand it far more now so I decided to convert the more used areas over to DCC, so 12 decoy have been bought and fitted and a bit of a rewire undertaken.
My First Great Western gaF Packet Livery HST and the Original Class 253 are having a run as well. Not had chance to run it with the powered car having to be returned for replacement.
Enjoy my pain in the wallet and hope it doesn't happen to you.
I should add I am not going to rant at Gaugemaster, it's over 3 years old and insulation can just fail, it's one of those things.
Thanks for watching.

The two Cromptons using their Double Head equipment take the Quantock Belle and two Dogfish and Catfish to Bishop Lydeard where the Cromptons will have an underside inspection.
There was sunshine just before the train came and after it had gone, but it rained when the train arrived. Typical !
