Our Bay area reporter, Cherie. gave us a cool inside look at the troubled San Jose, California rally on Thursday evening. “On the way in, there were only a handful of tame Bernie supporters. The police had cordoned off the downtown area so that they couldn’t harass or impede those who came to see Trump, and there were thousands of us. We were packed into a huge tent like proverbial sardines– Standing room only– no bleachers, no chairs, except for the press and the fortunate few who arrived a few hours ahead of time–I was somewhere in the middle. A clergyman lead us in a beautiful patriotic prayer. A local celebrity sung a wonderful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner in a rich baritone, and many of us sang along. We all recited the Pledge of Allegiance. And then came Donald. Suddenly I forgot I was standing. I forgot I was tired. The power of the man and his message galvanized us all. He speaks directly to what is on our minds and in our hearts. He connects with us. He understands us and we understand him. This is a movement that he has spearheaded–the movement of reclaiming our country out from jaws of the globalists, leftists, socialists, and corrupt political and wall street elites—all those purveyors of one world governmental tyranny. A miracle happened in that arena: thousands of people became as one. Where Bernie and Hillary might speak to the People’s lowest common denominator: Envy and greed – the desire to get something for nothing –Trump speaks to our highest common denominator our love of country and our gratitude to those who protected and defended our nation. You could feel that loving energy in the room. The audience, as one giant mind on its own, started chanting ”Build the wall!” And he followed up our chant by asking, ”and who’s going to pay for it?” And we happily answered back: “Mexico.” We love him and we trust him to preserve our borders and our country. That wall— more than an immigration stopper – it’s a symbol for preserving our sovereignty. He listed the crimes of Clinton, Calling them a national disgrace. How can such a woman be running for the presidency instead of being in jail? This nearly brought the house down. Trump finished up by commanding, “Let’s make America Great again!” That quequed an old Rolling Stones piece and after 10 minutes of signing autographs and shaking hands, he disappeared behind a curtain, leaving behind a warm glow that I’ll never forget – a truly worthwhile event. Imagine my surprise when, the next morning, I read all about the violence at the rally. I saw none of it. Apparently, just a couple of hundred paid thugs there to perform for a willing media. However a friend of mine did report that they followed Trumpsters into an underground parking garage where it got very scary. What a shame to spoil such a wonderful evening of patriotism and hope.
