For every production discipline, there are several sub-disciplines. Sound may be the main technology you're good at...or not. Just because you're great at live sound, doesn't mean you're great at live video sound. Just because you're great at studio sound, it doesn't mean you're great at live sound.
I'm primarily a videographer. I approach sound from from that perspective. I can make a mic louder or mute it, but that's all I can do quickly. Ask me to set up a projector or edit a video and I can do that all day, but while I can run live sound, others are better than me.
