If you’re decided to learn ASL, you probably want to know the color signs. After all, colors are adjectives that help us communicate effectively about the world around us; from saying you’d like to buy a red shirt, to describing the blue of the ocean.
Colors can be a great vocabulary builder for young ASL learners, as they are essential to children’s language development and understanding of the world. It’s also fun to be able to test your knowledge of the ASL colors, so that once you learn them, you can see how far you’ve come and give yourself the challenge of signing these vocabulary words without assistance.
That’s where this video comes in. Whether you’re an adult learning ASL for the first time, or a parent or guardian helping your child learn the language, here, you’ll get to take a fun quiz to see if you know the most popular color signs in ASL.

Are you a piano student, wondering how to find your way around all those white and black keys? Feel overwhelmed by the different tones, and not sure how to memorize 88 whole key names?
You’re not alone. Piano students often report that memorizing the notes on the keyboard is the most overwhelming step in learning this instrument. However, while the piano does have 88 keys, it is simply made up of a repeating pattern of notes that replicate after every octave. That means all those keys can be memorized in just minutes, simply by learning the pattern.
This helpful video will walk you through the names of the piano notes, show you how those note names correlate with the notes you’ll find on sheet music. This way, you can start sight reading piano charts and music, and get ready to launch your musicianship to the next level.
Whether you’re learning on your own or helping your child to learn piano for the first time, this helpful video lesson is a great place to learn your way around the piano keyboard. Through an easy-to-follow instructional style, a TakeLessons teacher will break down an otherwise confusing topic, so you can approach your piano playing with confidence.
