3 Kerbal Capsule - Getting To Orbit and To The Mun - Kerbal Space Program
Continuing the rocket development, I figure out the rest of the rocket, and then perform a successful munar round trip, unfortunately a malfunction during launch means that we don't want to try landing. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqMDZvElTOo
Juno: New Origins is a rebranding of Simple Rockets 2 because I guess the system is a lot less simple that It once was. It lets you build and simulate rockets, aircraft, rovers and even ships using the simple block based construction tools, and you can take these to other planets or even build your own planets.
It's been around for a few years and just left 'early access' beta, adding a career mode which makes it more of a game, but there's no need to do that if you just want to build and fly rockets there's a sandbox mode which has no limitations.
Reasons you might prefer this over Kerbal Space Program:
* Procedural part design
* Autopilot is the default way of flying
* Programmable flight computers
* Lower CPU loads because of no internal physics.
* Support for iOS and Android
* No little green men
Of course, KSP makes it easier to built a rocket, and the rockets flex under load, like the real thing, so it's a matter of preference.

Don't Starve is an Indie Survival game developed by Klei Entertainment and currently in Beta. It's available through Steam or the game's site http://dontstarvegame.com.
It has procedurally generated worlds, an extensive crafting system and an art style which I love.
Edit - free copy went to the smart person who initiated a request and conversation via binary circular logic.

The very first release of Kerbal Space Program in 2011 is missing a lot of features and building a rocket to reach Escape velocity is a serious challenge. So I tried this live on Twitch.tv last night.

The Nuclear Salt Water Rocket is a rocket engine concept that uses a rapid nuclear reaction in a Uranium salt dissolved in water to create a high thrust, high efficiency engine which eclipses the performance of any rocket engine ever designed. It's a concept originally presented by Robert Zubrin, which is appealing because it looks more scientifically plausable than many other futuristic propulsion concepts.
It's also scary on so many levels, using a propellent that has to be stabilized by specially designed tanks, and relies on managing a small nuclear explosion with power outputs of hundreds of gigawatts.

We've had some official updates on SpaceX's Crew Demo Mission, Virgin Galactic went to 'space' again and Elon couldn't stop posting things to twitter. No, not that dumb meme review show, really useful pointers about SpaceX's plans for the next few months,

On August 19th 1960 the CIA recovered the first images from a Spy Satellite as part of its secret Corona program. The Corona satellite flew from 1960 to 1972, providing important intelligence on the Soviet Union and other potential adversaries. The technology of the time forced the use of photographic film which would have to be recovered using a reentry capsule and a capture aircraft.
The program was declassified in the 1990's along with all the images, however the reports made from those images continue to be secret.
Lots more about the program is available in the CIA's archives:
