Fix LED Christmas Lights with One of These in a Few Minutes
Finding a broken bulb on a string of LED (or incandescent) Christmas lights can be fast.
Here's how to use a low cost Non Contact Voltage Tester along with a binary search approach to quickly zero in on the bulb that needs replacement.
The method used in this video requires a non contact voltage tester.

How do you make a boring 555 tone generator come to life? Give it some logic gates, a control voltage for frequency modulation, schmitt triggered inverter oscillator companion, and let it wail and warble!
Manipulating the 555 control voltage pin allows nudging of the output frequency. If you tangle up a 555 output with bunch of logic gates and counters, then feed that back to the control voltage pin with a low pass filter, strange things occur.

Testing the MCUFRIEND TFT LCD 3.5 inch 480x320 Touch Screen with an Arduino Uno. The diagnostic program says the chipset is ILI9341, ILI9488
There were a few pitfalls in getting it going, including the need to invert the screen colors and change the X/Y pinouts on the resistive touch screen controls.
This is where I ended up after hours of trial and error...

This PCB project uses a 5v to 5v isolated power supply module, PC817 optocouplers, and an ADUM1201 digital isolator to provide a way for 5 volt projects to interface with other hardware that requires galvanic isolation.

I found this UM3482A melody generator I bought at Radio Shack 30+ years ago and thought I'd fire it up and try to improve its sound output characteristics.
Running it through the Sound Logic board I made recently
