I captured this panoramic shot while looking for places with interesting landscape to capture the milky way. This is three photos combined in order to capture the full glory of the milky way. I used lightroom to edit and to stitch the three photos together. It was a perfect new moon night with no clouds and only slight light pollution from the city in the distance. It was a pretty cold night, cold for Arizona anyways but nothing like what others are experiencing with snow and ice.

I always enjoy cloudy days especially when I am out taking photos and get the chance to capture sun rays through the cloud while rejoicing with the plants and animals in the desert.
Bryce canyon is a great location to take dark sky photos because it has so little light pollution. When out taking photos I saw one of the largest fire-ball type shooting stars I have ever seen. Of course my camera was facing the wrong direction and I wasnt able to capture it. Its a memory that will stay with me forever, reminding me how amazing our cosmos is.
I spend quite a bit of time driving around looking for different locations to take pictures of the Milky Way with the least amount of light pollution. Often I will stop right next to the road to try out a test shot to see how much light pollution interfears with the location of the photo. You can see the light pollution from the city below the Milky Way, but overall its not a bad spot for more shots in the future.

Here is a shot off I-10 in Arizona, the Milky Way had not yet moved to a location over Pichacho peak so I figured I would see if I could capture the Milky Way even though I had some light pollution in the shot. The best time to see or photograph the Milky Way is during a new moon.
I have been meaning to get a lens good enough to do some stacked photos of the moon and I think I found one that should do the trick. Its a used lens, but everything seems to work fine and should be suitable for the projects I want to use it for. I ended up using only 20 of the 400+ photos I took of the moon for this stacked photo because of some user error on my side of things. This was one of the edits to bring out some color in the moon and give it a more epic appearance.
