Make sure you have a strong steady 9 volts. Use a fresh battery or an AC to DC 9volt adapter. Make sure it is center positive. The symbol for that is on the side next to the power jack. Make sure they match.

Even I’m getting confused in this video on the switch positioning. You have to experiment with it to find out which switching is one echo or two echo or no echo also the knobs might not have the same orientation .one may go left the other may go right to turn the delay up or down. Feedback and noise generation are the main deal with this instrument. I like to get noise rhythms with it you may not.
