In 2006, Angela moved to Georgia and began working at The Georgia School for the Deaf, GSD. She also had the unique opportunity to attend an intense ASL Immersion Course at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC., the world’s only university in which all programs and services are specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students.

Do you want to know how to ask for directions in Spanish, or tell a friend where to go?
If you want to learn directions in Spanish such as right, left, north, and south, watch the video above! We'll also share how to read a map and understand a GPS.
Let's start with a few common questions you can use when asking for directions in Spanish. You should know the meanings of the following phrases:
-Donde esta..? (Where is the..?)
-Como se va a..? (How do you go to..?)
-Necesito direcciones. (I need directions)
-Puede ayudarme? (Can you help me?)
Here are some common places you may need to describe in Spanish. Some of these words are cognates, which sound the same in English:
-La farmacia (pharmacy)
-El museo (museum)
-El hospital (hospital)
-El banco (bank)
-El correo (post office)
-La iglesia (church)
-El restaurante (restaurant)
-El café (cafe)
-El pub (bar)
If you really don't want to get lost, you should also know the compass directions in Spanish: "oeste," "este," "norte," and "sur." These words mean west, east, north, and south, respectively.
You can also combine them if you need to give more specific Spanish directions. For example, northeast would translate to "norte este."
If you're giving directions in Spanish and you want to say "left" or "right," memorize the words: "izquierda" and "derecha."
"A la izquierda de.." means "to the left of..". Add whichever place you're describing to the end of that phrase. For example, "La iglesia esta a la izquierda del banco."
