We spent five weeks in Djibouti Africa. It rained on us pretty hard twice. The hygiene pit was uphill from our part of the sort of FOB we'd made and overflowed into our living area. We were out on a desert beach and only got a few hours at the base that was a ways off. One shower in 5 weeks. I lost 15 pounds eating oatmeal for breakfast, an MRE throughout the day, and Raman at night.

In this drill, from Extreme Close Quarters Concepts with Craig Douglas, each participant has a sim gun in their right hand and their left hand on the other guy's sim gun. I started on the bottom. Just after the start, you can hear me light off a round as the other guy moved my gun across his body. I believe I fired late and so we continue. After dragging me around, he falls and we happen to end up swapping guns. My new gun was still operable, so I burned him right on down while he's discovering that his new gun didn't cycle after I fired and won't be saving him today.
