This was recorded using a Genesis 3 with a Triple Bypass board installed, as well as an unmodified 32x. You can REALLY see the interference the 32x ads...especially when scaled to 4K! Someday I'll look into improving the 32x, but for now, here's how to make every Genesis 2 and 3 perfect: https://www.retrorgb.com/genesistriplebypass.html ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU-7L4uQ5WM
Here's a video that tries to squash some myth's many people have about display lag. This video covers the very basics that should apply to your average gamer (modern or retro), but doesn't go too deep into special use case scenarios. I'll have some follow-up videos and discussions that go in deeper, but this video is a great place to start! Here's links to things discussed in the video, with more info available on the main post: https://www.retrorgb.com/mythbusting-display-lag.html

This video is an overview of the types of cables and connectors you’ll find when using classic game consoles. The first half of this video is an overview of each of those analog signals, while the second half goes into some RGB SCART technical details - You can skip that if you’re not interested in the details, but it's a good clarification as to why some RGB SCART cables can be "dangerous" and why buying quality cables is important.
Here’s links to help you on your next steps. I definitely recommend watching the RetroTINK Mini and RAD2x video if you’d like more info on using flat-panel TV’s with classic consoles.:

Your average CRT VGA monitor is a higher quality device than your average consumer-grade CRT, but most aren’t compatible with classic game consoles. These quality monitors can still be found for really cheap, so this video will show you how to use a few devices to allow compatibility...and make them look exactly like a high quality RGB monitor!

One of the main focuses of this video was how artificial horizontal scanlines affect the image. It was interesting to see how adding them to 480p signals on a CRT were incredibly accurate to a 240p look, regardless of tube type. Alternatively, it showed how adding horizontal scanlines to a signal displayed on a flat panel, isn't an accurate representation of the look on either type of CRT. I'd definitely like to explore this further in future videos: https://cdn.retrorgb.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/04100739/Scanline-Comparison-scaled.jpg

Here's an interview with the creator of the 129x and 68x "homebrew" input cards for Sony BVM/PVM monitors. Anyone who's into retro CRT monitors has probably heard Martin's name quite a few times over the past few years and it was an absolute pleasure to interview him. As usual, it's a very laid back conversation about beer, our travels...and of course, how Martin was able to reverse engineer the 68x, after it was deemed "impossible".
