Chinese Yang Qin Player, Grand st. B/D station, Chinatown, Manhattan
I got off at the Grand st. B/D station, this dude was busking. I threw him a few bills & asked if I could make a vid & shoot some flicks. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OS2sgCeWI2I
Another simple one. MUCH better than last week however!
Just a single Drum Pattern, a Bassline & some Odd Meter Chords, as to oscillate around the Primary Rhythm. Then a little Poem on the way out.

...just a short one.
I started off with the Subharmonicon. But it was thoroughly uncooperative.
So I moved on to the Roland JX-08. Which unlike the SH-01A & more like the
JU-06A... is confusing as all hell.
So by the time I'd convinced the manual to reveal it's dark & mystical truths,
it was all I could muster to merely record & then accidentally delete some
Chords & a Sequence a few times before frustration set in!
As such I was NOT keen on trying to figure out how to create multiple patterns,
much less learning how to switch between them on the fly during a recording!
...so here we are, with the JX simultaneously playing Reverberated, Chorusy Chords... & also babbling some dry arpeggiated nonsense at the same time. Kind of a cool feature√
The SH-01A enters in tandem... with a Bassline I tuned by coaxing a Sine out of the fully Resonated Filter. Pretty decent 808 impression, if you ask me! No FX here...
...at the same time, we hear the RD-6 with some Hats & the Snare fading in. The latter of which is making use of the TC Electronic Sky Surfer.
Then a brief pause & the Kick joins.
The Kick, Snare & Bassline each enjoy their own Channels. But the Chords, Sequence & Hats share a Stereo Channel.
Small Mixers ain't so bad if you get creative :]
Today is my Birthday. That's why the Upload is a day early... Happy Birthday!!! :]

An interesting installation on the MTA's Q line between the DeKalb & Canal st stations... which relies on the same phenomenon we find at work with flip books. A series of slits in a wall reveal a sequences of images on the other side & as you pass the images are animated.
I've been wanting to record this for years... & I finally remembered... while happening to have a camera.

Another improvised Synth Session. This one went off the rails at the very end. Whatever, I had fun :]
For some reason, upload kept failing. That's why I'm a little late.
But here we have the Akai TimbreWolf acting as Master of Ceremonies... as per usual. The 1st Channel is vacant, serving as the Clock. The other three are playing an E-Pianoish Triad, sort of Dubbed out through the Echo Brain.
The Mother is Patched up as to deliver a Bass Line, Kick & Snare. Dry. While the Sh-01a is playing some sort of Shaker/Hi-Hat hybrid.
The Franken Brute is on Arp duty up top with the Mini & there's sort of a glitchy auxiliary thing going on downstairs with the Micro. Both are running through the Danelectro Spring King.

Got my hands on a Make Noise Ø Coast! ...I'm going to be documenting the early stages of getting to know it.
Follow along, if you're interested√
This is the last of the Channel surfing. Now the "Outroduction" ... &then this will be my first "Video Album". BandCamp will not let me upload files this large though :P
So it might wind up being YouTube exclusive.
Either way, I'm having fun recording it!

This time around we're 7 against 4 against 5... with the Wolf wielding the watch. This ...despite the fact that it's also playing 4 Note Chords
( through the Afterglow Chorus, in 7 ).
Brute I in the Trap... with it's Snare running out to the SR-9. But for the first 1/4 of the Video, it's only the Snare we hear :P ( Improv do like that )
The Bassline is Sh-01a... dry ( in 4 ). Then in the last little bit it rides the MIDI Thru from the Behringer D & I noodle a bit ( with help from the Rubberneck )
There's also a Mother-peggio in 5. It's making use of not only the VP-1 Vintage Phaser, but also the Sky Surfer Digital Reverb.
Then, lastly ...but not leastly, we hear the Behringer D stalking through the high grass, on Noodle Patrol... with the trusty Pioneer SR-60 & making use of some good old fashioned Glide√
