This is overall a great module with a lot of up sides and not that many down sides, and definitely nothing that cannot be fixed. If you're on the fence about buying one, just get one. It definitely works for hobby work and is quite versatile overall.

In this edition of mailbag I show you where my past and about 6 months of future Patreon dollars; the 3d printing project! This is more money than I have spent in a long time but I hope these parts will mean that I can build myself a massive (500mm X 300mm) 3d printer for a reasonable price. It seems like a 500 x 500 x 400 printer would cost me roughly 1400$ and so far I'm under a third of that price, so I'm feeling good about it.

I made a quick and easy (and beginner-practice friendly) shield for Arduino UNO and Mega compatible boards so you can drive heavier loads directly from the shield. I wouldn't push it TOO hard but you should be able to pull about 500mA per pin. A future, higher current shield is planned!

Taking a look into a burnt out CFL bulb and salvaging some components. These things are always destined for the trash so might as well see what we can scavenge from them before they meet their fate.
Be careful with these bulbs because they do contain a small quantity of mercury (Hg) although it is a very small amount, the safe dose is 0.
