Former Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was named chief of staff for Dilma Rousseff amid allegations linking both more deeply to the corruption scandal at Petrobras and signs of rising Inflation in the US are increasing.; Edward Harrison weighs in. Early Wednesday morning, Greece became the first advanced economy to default on the International Monetary Fund. The default has wide implications but was more or less expected as the country and its creditors failed to hammer down the parameters of a bailout deal. But even though Greece is now technically in arrears, it has continued to attempt negotiations with its creditors. Ameera David weighs in.
Then, Erin Ade sits down with Pavlina Tcherneva – associate professor of economics at Bard College and research associate at the Levy Economics Institute. Pavlina tells us what conditions would encourage Greece to accept a bailout offer and gives us her take on their debt reconstruction deal.
After the break, Bianca Facchinei takes a look at how Washington is responding to the growing Internet of Things. According to the Federal Trade Commission, there is now 25 billion Internet-connected devices in the world. And experts expect that to double in five years.
Afterwards, Ameera and Erin discuss how China officially ratified an agreement with the world's largest emerging nations on Wednesday to create a new development bank – one of two new banks that China is currently working on.

As Janet Yellen begins her term as Fed Chair, growth in the US economy appears to be gaining momentum. University of Oregon Professor of Economics Tim Duy believes the Federal Reserve will face challenges in this environment as it decides how quickly to wind down its quantitative easing program.
However, in part two of an interview on Europe Yanis Varoufakis, Professor at University of Texas, Austin, predicts disaster for the Eurozone and the European Union as it deals with its never-ending economic crisis. Varoufakis sees sovereign defaults and a breakup of the Eurozone as the end game.
