Antifa battle feds over Holocaust vigil at Portland ICE facility
Antifa protesters recognized Holocaust Remembrance Day Wednesday night in front of an ICE facility in Portland, where they set up a candle-lit vigil and set fire to an American flag and a dumpster.
One person was arrested at the scene and charged with "attempted assault on a public safety officer, disorderly conduct and riot" after Federal Protective Service officers used pepper balls and riot shields to confront the activists.

Today pro-life and pro-choice activists faced off with competing chants in front of the Supreme Court amidst the 46th Annual March for Life.
Pro-choicers: "Pro-life, that's a lie. You don't care if women die!"
Pro-lifers: "Pro-choice, that's a lie. Babies never choose to die!"

"We're trying to correct history" Representative Matt Gaetz said in a brief press gaggle following his field hearing on January 6.
News2Share's Ford Fischer asked about whether Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Green would push Speaker Kevin McCarthy to release the J6 tapes to the public as promised.
"That's a question for Speaker Kevin McCarthy," Rep Greene says "I of course want everyone to see the tapes but I will tell you, the Department of Justice works for Joe Biden. The FBI works for Joe Biden, and if those tapes go out there, and Sedition Hunters can spend 24/7 using their facial recognition software, then they're going to hunt down, they're going to dox, and they're going to reveal more people and turn them in."
"And then Matthew Graves, who is a pathetic excuse for a US attorney, is going to harness his entire office to arrest more people, and they're going to rot in jail to be abused by someone called Kathleen Landerkin, the Deputy Warden here at the DC jail, who hates white men, hates President Trump and hates people that went in the Capitol on January 6."
"That's the reality of the situation. I hope the truth comes out for everyone, but I don't want to see anyone rot in jail anymore that just walked through an open door."
"And I don't want to see anyone see the same fate as Matthew Perna who committed suicide under extreme persecution."

Uncut footage: During Saturday night's protests in Washington DC that left several arrested, pepper sprayed, and hit with rubber bullets, a handful of police officers approached the crowd during a quiet moment in an attempt to talk.
A brief dialogue with police broke down after protesters argued among themselves over whether to "negotiate" with police at all.

Submitted by an activist going by the name of "Haiku Unsung Hero," these clips show some highlights from last night's protest in Ferguson, which included little or no violence. By contrast, the night before had protestors facing militarized police which ended in many injuries and arrests.

Teachers, admin and families in the Fairfax County School system rallied Tuesday to celebrate a local policy supporting trans students against the policies of Virginia Gov Glenn Youngkin.
"Who are we trying to protect? Trans kids! When are we trying to protect them? Now!"
The "Oppose Youngkin 'Don't Be Trans' school policy" march began at Luther Jackson Middle School and ended within sight of a WMAL radio tower, which they chanted at because it frequently hosts Governor Youngkin.
"What do we want? Trans rights! When do we want it? Now!"
Virginia Delegate Marcus Simon spoke, calling Governor Youngkin a bully.
"They are an administration full of bullies who want to take out their frustration, their anger and distract us from their own failings by picking on our trans and non-binary students."
Clerk of the Board of the Transgender Education Association of Greater Washington Area and Commissioner on the Fairfax County Commission for Women Amber Beakler said that Governor Youngkin's policy "is not setting foot here in Fairfax County Public Schools" and described how "even just the language, how they define words is offensive and egregious and violent."
For example, she describes that the Virginia definition of "transgender student" includes only those 18+ or whose identities are affirmed by the parent "Completely erasing trans students who do not have support of students or are not out to them."
A Fairfax County First Grade teacher also spoke out, saying that her union "firmly stands behind our trans and non-binary students."
"We are glad to see that our school district is one that's going to stand up when our students are facing abuse at the state level."
This is the policy memo supported by the rally attendees, but likely to cause strife with Gov Youngkin: https://www.fcps.edu/news/model-policy-update
"Our gender expansive and transgender students will continue to be addressed by their chosen names and pronouns," the Superintendent promises.

Members of the Revolutionary Communist Party interrupted the Independence Day city Celebration of Freedom event in Philadelphia (where both the governor and mayor spoke) by burning an American flag.
They advocated the crowd join them for "a real revolution."
After "The RevComs" burned the American flags, they were pulled aside by police and briefly detained.
Officers ultimately concluded that flag burning is lawful protest, but issued a warning because the tote bag they carried also caught fire.
The group continued to heckle speakers throughout the remainder of the event.
