In this episode of the Taylor Series, we discover an algorithm that will allow us to subtract natural numbers. We also find out what happens if you take a larger number away from a smaller number! ---
The Taylor Series aims help people love math. Whether you're a student in a math class or someone who has ever asked the question, "What was the big deal about Calculus?" there's something here for you.
I am aiming to have one new video up every month. I hope you enjoy them!
Also, I named this the Taylor Series after the mathematical construct created by James Gregory and formally introduced by Brook Taylor ... and I picked this one in particular because my name is Derrick Taylor. :) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7O0t9yYOuw
What happens when you flip an operation? Today, we find out something interesting when we start flipping the operations we saw in the previous video!

In this episode of the Taylor Series, we explore the concept of being able to hear fractions! That is, if you were to take a pipe and use it to generate a tone, then we can cut other pipes to fractions of that first one and get other tones -- that together make up recognizable cords and scales!

So, my TEDx talk was processed and released! I'm very happy to have been a part of the event. If you want to see it, here's a link!

I also released a "Fun" video last week about multiple types of infinities. Hopefully you enjoy it. :)

However, I'm going to focus more on the "nuts and bolts" videos for a bit -- that is, the Discovery and Reference videos that I'd consider appropriate for someone wanting to learn or remember a particular topic.
Note: My AC is out and my camera decided to focus on the monitor behind me, so ... who knows. :) I'll do better in the next Vlog, promise!

In this episode of the Taylor Series Reference, we quickly go over how to subtract two natural numbers. This is just a reference video, and so it's meant for those that are merely brushing up on a topic.
(Also, for those that saw the original mispost of this video, kudos for helping me find my mistake. :) )

Today, we talk about one of my favorite numbers: i. It will blow your mind, because it's going to truly push the boundaries of what we mean by the word Number. Watch to learn more!

Today I paint the cyc wall in the recording studio!
Cyc walls are great. Cyc stands for Cyclorama, and what this means is that the seams where floor-meets-wall or wall-meets-wall are curved.
But they need to be maintained. After a lot of use, ours was pretty marked up. There were cracks along the wal where the panels were separating, there were a few dings here or there, and there was a pretty big splotch where rainwater leaked through the roof. So, time to paint it!
---
I know it's a little late, but unfortunately, I couldn't finish the task until the roof was patched up. But, that's how it goes!

Today, I just talk a little about what's been going on in my life recently, and announce the fact that I'm giving a TEDxRochester talk! This is pretty cool! I don't know when they'll post the talk online (which I'll give in about 2 days from the time of this upload), but I'll link to it as soon as I have it.
