Minute Memo #178 - Trump Gets 28% of Alabama Dems
Good afternoon, I’m still reporting on politics.
In the Gravis Marketing poll, the largest of the frequent political polls, Donald Trump received 38% of the vote among Alabama Republican Primary voters – nearly as much as all other candidates combined.
Ben Carson was the only other candidate to break double digits with 16.7% of the vote.
The Gravis poll surveyed 1,616 participants between Aug. 29 and Sept. 1.
Interestingly, the group Trump did best with in Alabama were voters aged 18 to 49 where he got 42.1% of the vote.
Even among independents, Trump scored 37% of the vote. Carson came in second with 19.4%. No other candidate got more than 4.4% of the independent vote in the Alabama poll.
Amazingly, with folks who self-identified as Democrats, Trump still scored 28.1% with Carson second at 6.3% - and 53% of Democrats undecided.
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.
