After Visiting Musee de l’orangerie In Paris, I composed this piece. Its part of my series of 《5 Paintings in Patis》
(II) Monet: Clear morning with Water Lillies
Monet has been described as "the driving force behind Impressionism”. The philosophy of impressions is to expressing one's perceptions before nature, especially as applied to open air landscape paintings. Monet began painting the water lilies in 1899 at his house garden in Giveny and have done over 250 paintings on this subject. The 《Clear Morning with Water Lillies》 are large-scale paintings which are exhibited in Orangerie Museum in Paris permanently.
I composed this piece in Eb major, and the light-hearted melody and the pleasing harmonic progression are to express Monet’s usage of soft colours which brought enormous joy to the eyes of viewers.
