November 27th (11 days ago) I was rushed to the ER for an unforgettable pain. It took them 3 full days to find out what was wrong with me. I went through 3 different cat scans and countless of blood tests before they could even figure out what was wrong with me. They still "didn't know" so they performed surgery and found out that a staple from my first previous surgery from my appendix removed 10 years ago was the cause...so that's what ubstructed my insides to shut down and nearly blow me up.
My first 7 days there I was but on narcotics 10x more powerful than morphine. As crazy as it sounds, the pain never really went away, yet I never got loopy or drugged out, I was completely coherent every second being there. Every 6 hours I had to get my blood drawn. I was hooked up to the IV to feed my body. I went 10 days without eating...but going back on my 8th night, that's when they had to put in this PICC Line that they drill into your arm, but how they do it is with an ultrasound machine to find your vessel that goes to your heart. So then they take that picc line and travel it deep in your blood vessel and once they reach your heart it ends. It's a 60 minute process to do.
So the purpose of this picc line is when things really get severe. It's the line to really keep you alive even just a normal iv can't save you.
Couple more nights of pain, but this time the pain was about the surgery which is normal, besides that I felt nasause the entire time. And well, as you can see, on my 11 day there I was finally discharged to go home and that's when they had to take out my picc line...
Nothing was fun about it. All I did at the hospital was try to sleep and not feel pain. Didn't play games or watch movies, just tried to sleep the pain away.
