#66 / Jake Kobrin on creativity, art, healing and plant medicine
For episode #66 we are joined by Jake Kobrin. Jake is a visionary artist and tattooist he is also the founder and designer of a jewelry and fashion brand called Medicine Dragon Designs and is a DJ and musician, as well as a published writer, speaker, and podcaster.
Jake’s work is psychedelic, unusual, dark, beautiful, and elegant. His work seeks to illuminate experiences that Jake has had that are outside of the realm of normal waking consciousness, moving into numinous and visionary realms with natural ease. He considers himself an "interdimensional midwife and conduit" believing that the role of the artist is to be able to move outside of themselves and to act as a conduit for higher consciousness to move through them. In this way, he says, "I do not claim authorship for any of the works of art I have painted. I am a channel for Great Spirit to create through me."
He is one of the few visionary artists with formal classical art education, having studied classical realist drawing and painting in Florence, Italy at the Angel Academy of Art.
Besides painting and tattooing, he is also the founder and designer of a jewelry and fashion brand called Medicine Dragon Designs and is a DJ and musician, as well as a published writer, speaker, and podcaster.
Interview with author Graham Hancock on the subject of his new book 'Magicians of the Gods'. Photography and Time-lapse by myself unless otherwise stated.

An article on the Jinn by Veenu Sandal. What's interesting about this piece is the authors account of his own real experiences with the Jinn.

Well this was a lot of fun! Joshua Cutchin is back on Spirit Box to talk Changelings and Fairy child abductions, the subject of his superb book 'Thieves in the Night'.
Get out your fairy, jinn, ultraterrestrial bingo cards because we get into a lot here.
We talk about the topic as a global phenomenon as Joshua presents in the book. We discuss the correlations with the Alien abduction experience and the reasons why these events were believed to take place. We discuss the reasons 'Iron' and 'Fire' are used as a defence against these beings and why calling on a higher power seems to work, irrespective of which higher power being invoked.
I get a chance to play Joshua the ' Fairy Witness statements' I recorded in the summer. In the Plus show we get into the 'Man in Black' of fairy folklore, black eyed children, Santa Claus, Jinn and the ubiquitous 'Men in Black' of ufo folklore.
UFO's, Fairy's, Men in Black, Jinn... why its a Fortean feast for your ears!

For episode #45 we welcome Pierre Sabak. He is an expert on ancient symbolism and etymology and is widely recognized as a leading academic in the fields of religion, mythology, mysticism and the esoteric. New Ufology is the Study of Occult Symbolism to deconstruct the Ufological tradition, a restricted teaching equated with the Flying Saucer and its occupants (a Crewmember of a Vessel).
A completely new field of research, the focus of New Ufology is Skaphology (the Study of Angelic Boats within Religion and Mythology). Pierre Sabak's work on the Saucer Cults details a Secret Alien Code within Language which he calls the Artefact, one that is identified archaically with the ‘Angelic Sailor’ and its human and non-human Hosts.
Sabak contends that it is only through studying the occult tradition that we can truly comprehend the UFO phenomenon, its astrological origins and more importantly its intentions for mankind! - to that end, what are its intentions for mankind?
Quite a bit to unpack there and some interesting twists and turns from the regular themes on this show. Which is good. No one and no system has all the answers so it is important to get off the map sometimes.

For episode #82 we welcome Dr Mark Fitzpatrick. He is a teacher, writer, and independent scholar, specialising in the Weird and the Wonderful. He has a PhD in Literature from the Université de Paris – Sorbonne Nouvelle, and is currently an invited lecturer in several Paris universities.
Originally from Cork, he spent twenty years in Paris, living in garrets and trying to get his novels published. When this proved to no avail, he began publishing his work online on his website thehollowbehindthehearthstone.com, under a variety of aliases, and his first novel, Unreal City, is coming out in early 2022.
He has recently moved to Aquitaine, where he lives in a little house on the grounds of a Strange Crumbling Manor, with his wife, his two children, a Wicked Uncle, and two and half cats.
In the show we discuss the nature of belief and Mark details a remarkable experience he had with other in land around his home. We also discuss dual observance, being in right relation with place, the festival of Imbolc and bringing pagan festivals into ones circle.
In the Plus show we discuss the relationship between pagan festivals and subsistence farming and dependence on being in good relation to the land and the intelligences therein. We also get into how the others may cultivate human beings for whatever their business may be. Towards the end of show we get into the differences between the Gaelic mind and Anglo mind through their respective languages and stories and the influence in how they see the world.

Beginning in her early childhood, the world-famous trance medium and grande dame of parapsychology Eileen J. Garrett had numerous encounters with an entity she called the "Noble Stranger." When she asked his identity one day, this mysterious figure responded, "You may call me Lucifer."
Call me Lucifer: Dialogues with a Noble Stranger, features Garrett's writings about her encounters with this Noble Stranger, and reflections on her intellectual "duels with her Devil." The book includes extensive verbatim transcripts of Lucifer's communication with Garrett, together with Lucifer's Compendium of Guidance.
Though prepared with great care over the course of her life, the book has lain dormant in Garrett's family archives for decades. Her granddaughter, Lisette Coly, current President of the Parapsychology Foundation, has now decided that it should be shared with the public as an aid to our spiritual evolution.
Eileen J. Garrett (1893-1970) was an Irish medium and one of the most important figures in parapsychology. Despite her apparent psychic abilities, which were subjected to numerous tests by the most prominent researchers of the era.
Garrett maintained a lifelong healthy skepticism, always questioning the nature and meaning of her own extraordinary experiences. Her dedication to the objective, scientific study of psychical phenomena resulted in her establishing the Parapsychology Foundation, which published many books on the subject as well as the International Journal of Parapsychology, and the popular Tomorrow magazine.
Garrett was also something of a bon vivant, rubbing shoulders with everyone from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to Cecil B. DeMille, Aldous Huxley, Salvador Dalí, Robert Graves, Anaïs Nin, and Carl Jung to name but a few. Garrett herself was a prolific author, writing a number of novels as well as books on psychical research and three autobiographies

For episode 62 we welcome back author, magican and talismanic jeweller, Aidan Wachter.
We discuss he last book Weaving Fate and Aidan’s writing process, including the importance of flow and how his work is made up of broken pieces which makes sense at a later point.
We talk magic as a tool for altering future probabilities and ones past through ritual and manipulation of the mind and the world. Magic and sorcery are ways of being in the world and Aidan's writing offers us his way without conditions or constraints.
Aidan’s work helps anchor us around the understanding that our lives are our own. That we can be our own real time biographers and we can write a better story. He also gives us a good toolkit for doing so in both of his books, Six Ways and Weaving Fate.
In the Plus show we discuss ‘naming’ and coming of age and the idea of ‘the feral self’. I also manage to go down a rabbit hole around my confusion with billionaire's obsession with SuperYachts. I’m not even sure how my brain got there...
