Today I'm reviewing the CAD U1000, a USB Condenser mic that is listed as compatible with Windows & Mac. Overall, I think the mic is not worth the price and suggest you look somewhere else if your searching for a decent budget USB mic.

Today I review the Telefunken TF47 which is a mid-forward multi pattern tube condenser microphone. This offers great mid clarity and a robust low mid section with a tame air sound. If you're going for that more vintage sound, this thing sounds great.

I just wanted to share 5 mistakes that I see a lot of people making when purchasing audio equipment that should be avoided. I know this channel could be used to justify over consumption of audio equipment so I wanted to take a week to advocate for fiscal responsibility. Also, these tips could apply to pretty much any good you're considering purchasing.

I'm just curious what the best position is for Lavalier microphones. I've never gotten sound that I'm too thrilled with so I figured I'd try 6 positions and get your feedback.
Listening back to the raw unprocessed sound, I think position 3 is the best sounding. It has the best mix of low end and clarity from the top end without introducing too much room tone like we got in position 4.
Lav mic: Rode lavalier II
Interface: Rode AI-Micro
Gain: ~90%
24-bit, 48khz

Today I review the Telefunken TF51 which is a bright and exciting microphone with a clean mid section and a thicc bottom. This gives a sound that is apparently similar to the ELAM 251. This thing also has one of the lowest self noises I've ever seen on a tube microphone.

Today I review the Heil PR40; a broadcast dynamic mic that has become an industry standard. It has an extended low end to 28Hz, and a boosted high end for added clarity. If you are looking for a broadcast mic and you like the tone, I think this is a fine option. I’m personally not the biggest fan of the tone of this mic, but it is all personal preference at this level.

Today I walkthrough, explain, test and review the Universal Audio Twin X Duo. This is a Thunderbolt 3 audio interface with ADAT/SPDIF expansion, two preamps with 65dB of gain, and DSP processing with near 0 latency. You get some great converters and you can record up to 24-bit 192kHz. This thing is an absolute beast if you are a Mac user.
