For this class of UK aircraft carrier, this was the very first time the public have been invited onboard. For the 2 days it will be open for public viewing, about 13,000 free tickets were issued - all of them were claimed within 1 hour of the ticket office opening!
Public were invited into the forward hanger deck and were able to wonder around the various displays, and equipment. All of the rest of the ship was locked-off to the public.
Even so, it was very interesting. A variety of service personnel were represented - lots of different uniforms, including different actively armed personnel! Every member of staff who attended this event made themselves available for chatting with the public and answering technical, personal, and stupid questions!
Look out for the unfortunate member of staff who had the role of being the sparring-partner for the children to hit him with sticks!!!
[All video, sound was recorded "as-is" at this live event - some display stands had background music playing.]

Flown with the kind permission and acceptance of the magnificent volunteers of the RNLI - in this instance, from New Brighton.
https://rnli.org/find-my-nearest/lifeboat-stations/new-brighton-lifeboat-station
A tractor training exercise on the New Brighton beach beside Fort Perch. Using an Talus M3 submersible tractor and trailer - specifically designed for the RNLI. New Brighton Lifeboat Station was the first in the world to use have the M3 tractor in active use.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talus_MB-4H_amphibious_tractor
Not sure where the lifeboat actually was, couldn't stay very long to find out.
Was a VERY windy beach - notice the flutter in the RNLI flags on the lifeguard hut.

Just like most previous years, Amazon widely advertised its June ’21 Prime Day as a fantastic range of goods available to the buyer cheaper than usual list price.
Many items are displayed to the customer with either a counter-down timer of when the offer ends or a count-upwards of the percentage of the stock that has already been sold. Both of which, designed to instil a sense of urgency in buying before either stock or time runs out.
Perhaps this specific item is just somehow a quirk…
For around a year, I’ve been curious about buying a domestic CCTV system. During that time, I’ve researched the variety of equipment available and decided I liked the Annke system.
So, during Amazon Prime Day ’21, I was pleased to notice that an Annke kit was being sold at a significant discount – so I bought 2 kits.
As the due delivery day was to be a few days after Prime Day, I occasionally revisited the orders info. Out of curiosity, I searched again to find what the price of this kit reverted to after Prime Day, expecting it to have increased towards the RRP.
My surprise was that these kits were now listed a further £40 less than the Prime Day price – sold by the same sellers through Amazon.
For clarity:
Amazon claims RRP to be £499
Maker’s website sell them for £380
Prime Day sell them for £320
2 Days after Prime Day, Amazon sell them for £282
Each kit is exactly the same make, model & specification, being sold by the same seller through Amazon.
Fortunately, I was able to cancel the Prime Day order for these kits, reorder at the cheaper price, and the delivery day remains as it was before!
Even though I’m confused at how and why this sequence of events has happened through Amazon, and angry with Amazon that I feel misled about what Prime Day was offering me, of course, as Amazon still lists this kit as the cheapest available, I’ve continued to buy from them.
Has anyone had a similar experience with Amazon relating to other semi-expensive items?!

?Essential/Key Workers = contractors mowing the lawn outside an unoccupied property?
Job took less than 10 minutes, in the rain. Locals walk past on their way to and from local shops. How many jobs a days do contractors like this do in different locations? Do they go from a job such as this to another job in a residential old-people's home? How are they paid/contracted? Are they one of the ways of still propagating the CV19 around the local area?
You decide! Please leave your comments
