Also please install the included APK file!! Sorry I didn't realize this apk was needed when I first posted this video.
In this video I will show you how you can change your resolution settings from INSIDE your Oculus Go without needing to have your PC hooked up to it every time. You WILL need to connect it to your PC in order to activate ADB over TCPIP on port 5555. Once you do that, you're golden until you reboot your Go. Every time you reboot your Go, you will need to connect it to your PC again in order to restart ADB on TCPIP port 5555 in order for these apps to work. Also every time you restart your Go, all these settings revert back to defaults. None of this is permanent so you can't do anything permanent to your Go with these. These apps launch from within Oculus TV. Once you sideload them they will show up in Oculus TV and just run them from there. Once you click on it a black screen will pop up for 1 second which indicates that the command has run and SHOULD mean it's run without any errors but even so once in a while you have to click on the icon a second time for it to work. If you have any questions after watching the entire video please let me know!
Download the following zip file and sideload app apks contained within.

About the 3DSBS (side-by-side) format
My 3DSBS formatted videos contain the 3D metadata required by YouTubeVR to play properly in YouTubeVR in FULL COLOR 3D, YouTube has decided to handle this format differently in a web browser as there it displays them as 3D Anaglyph (red and cyan). Therefore watching this in a web browser is not recommended unless you have no other way to watch 3D and have 3D anaglyph glasses. YouTubeVR however is the recommended player. In YouTubeVR this format allows you to move the screen anywhere you want around you, move it closer or farther away from you, and change the screen from flat to curved. In this sense the 3D SBS format is more flexible than the 3D VR180 format. Another advantage this format has over 3DVR180 is that it allows anyone who has a 3D display, such as a 3D Smart TV or 3D projector, to watch this in 3D as the Android TV version of YouTube properly displays these videos as SBS, instead of anaglyph which it sadly does in it's webplayer on a PC for example. The 3DSBS format *sometimes* has lower image quality however, than the 3DVR180 format.
With some people taking the current health situation seriously and others not so seriously, I thought I'd try to do a public service to the VR community and demonstrate the potential lethality of COVID19, aka, the coronavirus.

I realize this happened because I was using OBS on my PC to record myself via the webcam, then I was using the Steam Link app in Oculus TV and it went to the desktop showing OBS recording me.. heh. I thought it was a bit trippy so I decided to upload it here.

I actually live in the same city where the original 7th Guest was created, Medford, Oregon. The original dev, Graham Devine of Trilobyte, invited me to visit them at their location on McAndrews back in 1996. I didn't know anything about them, I was working as a barista at Starbucks and he would come in for coffee and we would chat a bit. He was a very humble person. I had no idea how big of a guy he was until after Trilobyte shut down and he went to work for ID.
You can learn about Graham here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graeme_Devine
Another one of the developers, named Don (I think, or was it Paul?), told me of the secret cheat code for the original game. I cannot remember what it does, but I haven't found it documented ANYWHERE. If you get the original 7th Guest game, the password is "Don_R Zaphod_B". I can't remember what it does but you type it in when the game first boots up and then I think you hear a chime, if I recall correctly.

I just had this amazing experience with the game Wands after increasing the texture resolution first to 2048 then to 3072. Both resolutions play very very well. When comparing to the original 1024 resolution not only are they much much clearer, but they make the default resolution seem like you're playing underwater realizing how blurry everything in that game is at it's default resolution.
This is part 2, please see my first post about increasing the resolution of the Oculus Go here:

It contains the proper metadate for YouTube to recognize it as a 3D SBS video, . Sadly, this is how YouTube has chosen to handle 3D SBS videos in their webplayer. However this 3D SBS video will show up in FULL COLOR 3D in the YouTubeVR player, a freely available app for any VR device. Also if you watch this on a 3D Display that either has YouTube built in, like a 3D Smart TV, or one that is hooked up to an Android TV device, such as a Google Nexus Player, or Amazon Fire TV Stick, using the Android TV YouTube app this video will show up in direct SBS format and you can then manually set your device to this format and watch it correctly in FULL COLOR 3D (NOT in Anaglyph thankfully).
