The K-Quad build & maiden: A 3D printed mini FPV quad.
The 'K' in this case stands for krikey, which is Neils forum/YouTube name. This is a stunning looking frame which makes my wooden H-quad look like something I stole off a tramp.
I'm not sure if this will be the final version, as Neil has already made a few alterations for his own build - but this initial iteration, is probably the simplest and possibly the most versatile.
I'm not sure if he's intending to produce a few more of these to sell, but if he does I'll add a link in here.
I loved flying the FullSpeedRC Toothpick quad, but it was frustrating that the included receiver had limited range. So in this video, I'll swap out the receiver to FrSky XM+ and do some more flying (on 3S and 2S)... oh, and I'll crash into some trees as well.
This quad was kindly supplied for review by FullSpeedRC, so if you want to take a closer look at the product, be sure to check out their website through this (affiliate) link http://www.fullspeedrc.com/fullspeed-toothpick-fpv-racing-drone-2-3s-1103-65mm-prop-25-600mw-vtx_p0194.html?Sn=1420A54220
You can also get it via their AliExpress shop https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/FullSpeed-Toothpick-FPV-Racing-Drone-2-3S-1103-65mm-prop-25-600mw-VTX/4880061_33004441157.html?spm=a2g0v.12010108.1000001.11.584559e1rHrwRN

Well, Xmas is almost upon us, and I'm not sure if I'll get out and fly anything before the end of the year, so here's my 2016 for you.
I never get to fly as much as I want, but had a lot of fun this year. I need to give big thanks to Neil/Krikey (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLmHbuBc-qPP4enr-vdZyKQ) who comes up with lots of the slightly wacky ideas/missions to fly.
Also guest starring OMEGOOLIEBIRD (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn_sptZoPd7aeTlKJmXvuLA) as I could watch the 6s Funjet flyby all day :)

Syma make pretty popular quads on the toy-side of the hobby that represent many youngsters taking their first steps into flying. Are they any good ?
The nice people at Syma have given a promo code, so if you are interested in this little quad, use this code for a 20% discount !
Promo code: HFFWPMBH
Here's the product link for the quad: https://www.amazon.co.uk/2-4Ghz-Headless-Quadcopter-Copter-Function/dp/B01FRWEO6Q/ref=sr_1_74?ie=UTF8&qid=1506507871&sr=8-74&keywords=drone
If you already fly one of these, please share in the comments about your method of flying. Can you use the narrow view for FPV, or do you use a mix of LOS to line things up and then FPV to get the shot you want ?

Do you remember the Skyhook which I got over a year ago !? Well it's finally finished and before I fly it (and risk horrible crashing) I thought I'd show you what I've done while it's all shiny and new.
I put much more detail into 5 blog posts about this, including the iNav mixing and the full build details, take a look here http://www.currykitten.co.uk/?s=skyhook&submit=Search

Ventured out with krikey in to the forest to get some AXN flights in (I actually flew the quad as well, but the OSD going mad and wind didn't make for anything particularly interesting)
I just can't describe how cold this was (and how ill-prepared we were for this). I have to land after I realised I could no longer feel the stick under my thumb by just mashing in a general downwards direction to throttle off.

The FrSky X4R is a great receiver, but in today's smaller mini quad builds, those pins can stick out a bit, so here's how to strip the size down a little in order to fit it into tighter spaces.
Gearbest very kindly supplied my with this, albeit that they were supposed to send over the FrSky XSR, which is a little bit like a stripped down X4R - hence this video.
You can find the X4R here http://goo.gl/udvaXc
I'm going to fit this onto my Floureon QX80 that Gearbest have also kindly sent me to review. Please take a look at the video here

Yeah - the motors work fine, but I'm not impressed with how MEPS is behaving as a company. Watch on to learn more.

The E61H is not normally the sort of quad I look at, but the weather is not cooperating with me for flying outside, and this thing was so cheap that I had to see what it could do
This quad was kindly supplied by Banggood, so if you are interested in checking it out in more detail, please consider using the following affiliate link: https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-E61H-Mini-Altitude-Hold-Mode-8mins-Flying-Time-2_4G-4CH-6-Axis-RC-Drone-Quadcopter-RTF-p-1980807.html?p=E81211714085201408XQ&custlinkid=2932121
There is also a 30% off coupon for this quad (although I don't think a coupon can be used whilst the product is already on an offer) but use BGRCE61H at checkout.
