I demonstrate two easier ways of obtaining the stress transformation formulas. I demonstrate the steps using Symbolic Python (SymPy) in Jupyter Notebook.
I have often found both students and myself repeatedly forgetting the exact form of the stress transformation formula which are so widely used in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering etc. So, I think the ways that I have described here will be found useful by the students.
Both the ways I demonstrate here involve simple use of matrices. One of the methods use the rotation matrix.
