Compassion for Men and Boys? Know these Three Things
We live in a world that lacks information about the uniqueness of men and boys. The research has been done but the media and our educational system have failed to pass it on to us. This video offers three things that the research has revealed about boys and men that most have not heard. There is much more but these three are a good start in seeing our differences and being able to love men and boys for who they are rather than judging them for not being more like women. Feminists have put much effort into dismantling male spaces. Where men gather, they protest. But all the while women's spaces are sacred and growing by leaps and bounds every day. This double standard seems invisible to nearly the entire population.
International Men's Day has been growing and is now celebrated in over 70 countries around the world. This video looks at a possible creep into that space by a group called the Australian Women's Network. They seem to try and sneak in undetected by creating a front the have titled the Australian Men's Network but this front seems to just be a placeholder.

The issue of self esteem is a tough one for men. Due to factors like precarious manhood low self esteem is simply not something that men can easily discuss or admit. They are painfully aware that no one really cares that much about their emotional pain and that if they make it public they will be judged harshly.
Tom discusses some ideas about the source of low self esteem in men and a couple of starting ideas about how to deal with it.
(And no,, he didn't tell the little boy in therapy his parents were shits.)
