At Land (1944) is a 15-minute silent experimental film written, directed by, and starring Maya Deren. It has a dream-like narrative in which a woman, played by Deren, is washed up on a beach and goes on a strange journey encountering other people and other versions of herself. Deren once said that the film is about the struggle to maintain one's personal identity.

My piano cover version of ABBA's, "Money, Money, Money" which was written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. It was released as a single on 1 November 1976, as the follow-up to "Dancing Queen" (both from the album Arrival). The B-side, "Crazy World", was recorded in 1974 during the sessions for the album ABBA.
The song (originally titled "Been and Gone and Done It") is sung from the viewpoint of a woman who, despite hard work, can barely keep her finances in surplus, and therefore desires a well-off man.
ABBA perform parts of "Money, Money, Money" live in the 1977 film ABBA: The Movie. In the popular musical, Mamma Mia!, the song is sung by the character of Donna as she explains how hard she has to work to keep the taverna in order and her dreams of a better life. In the 2008 film, Meryl Streep sings the song.

the-story-of-wu-wei-chamber-opera-the
The Womb is the beginning scene to the larger work—The Story of Wu Wei—a condensed, single-act English-language chamber opera (written in 2017-2018) based on my mother’s struggle to survive during the Mao Regime in China in the 1950s. During this period of civil strife, millions died to violent class warfare. The opera features both fixed-media electronic interludes and live performance.
In this electronic introduction, Wu Wei, the unborn child is floating in the womb of her mother in a space protected from the outside world. This feeling of safety is fleeting, as the mood becomes more discordant towards the end.
The piece incorporates contact microphone recordings of water, wineglasses, carbonated water, tapping on glass, and air bubbles, which were processed in Ableton Live using various equalization parameters, filter sweeps, delays, and reverbs. The Womb begins with a wineglass sample that I pitched and heavily layered to create perfect and imperfect intervals. I designed a rich palate of tone clusters that created a harmony consisting of consonant and dissonant intervallic ratios. Over the course of the interlude, I shift the tonality from consonant to dissonant to diminished. The piece was originally composed for a 7-channel system, where I could take advantage of spatialization and dispersion of the mix. I wanted movement in this subtle piece to create a feeling of being lovingly held in a space of peace and tranquility, which soon transforms to uncertainty.
