As winter is here its time to see how the cows and the horses to together in the same pen. So today's episode is about lettings Nicki and Bucky our quarter horses in with Dani and Dorothy our Lynch lineback heifers for the first time. The biggest reason for this is to help with water as we can heat one bucket for both sets of big animals.

How We Prepare Blueberry Beds The Blueberry Dilemma Re-visited
Today's video is a return to our blueberries which have for the most part remained in their storage totes they came to the property in after our move in 2019.... So this is a great job to get off the list! This is an excellent example of where priorities change daily on what you can actually achieve when you are growing your own food and for us it was time to at least make a substantial dent in getting these in blueberries in the ground. We also go through how we prepare the blueberry beds to help these plants get off to a good start. Since blueberries are a long term planting it is worthwhile giving them a good bed to grow in!
Thanks for watching

Saving Seeds 101: Part 1 Why Save Seeds
We were on Jules Small Gardening's garden chat series a few weeks ago talking about the topic of saving seeds from your garden fruits and vegetables. It can be such a broad topic and there are so many plants that we figured it would be good to break this down a bit into a series on the topic. Part 1 is a bit of an intro and a discussion about why save seeds in the first place. We hope you find this series interesting and maybe take a few tips and tricks from it to help you in your own gardening endeavors!

Fencing Vlog | Working on the Cattle Fence
This weekend, it was hot hot hot! But we still had to work on some fencing. Around our Canadian homestead, fencing seems to be a never ending project. This time we are stranding wire for electric fencing as well as workign on t-posts and wood posts. We are hoping to have an area of approximately 2 acres ready by the end of this upcomign weekend. Fingers crossed.
Thank you so much for watching and we look forward to sharing our next steps with you.

Tuesday Night Live Its Already December of 2021
It's time for another Tuesday Night Live
The older we get the faster time seems to go. not sure if it's just because we are always doing so much or if the world really is moving faster in some ways (or maybe both).
Anyways Tonight we are just catching up and likely chatting about some "old timey" ways of doing things on a modern homestead.
Thanks so much for watching!

Can a Single Kit Survive? Champagne d'Argent Rabbits
Today's episode is more of a rabbit vlog of sorts. Its kindling season here and things are well under way. One of our does though had a bit of a surprise and only had one (though quite large) kit born. And of course in typical rabbit fashion she was due on a day when we were having cooler than normal weather for April. So the big question is will a one kit litter survive?

#shorts - Well we said we weren't going to do shorts, but when this happened, I couldn't resist silly cows, afraid of the sleigh. The cows have been such a joy to add to our homestead. They make us laugh daily. Who knew that cows could be so much fun. It is like having two huge dogs, lol.
Hope you enjoy this video. Be sure to hit the subscribe button and comment below it is always appreciated.

#SHEDWARS21: #SHEDWARS
This is our SHEDWARS21: entry video to the 2021 season of Shed Wars. We really like the concept of sharing information and the challenge of tracking everything we grow in a year (something we have never really done).
Already looking forward to the 2021 growing season.
