Welcome to a small mini series covering the automation of my own apartment in Brasilia. So many light bulbs and light switches in the living room - impossible to remember, what switches turn on which set of light bulbs. And that long way to get the coffee machine started in the morning... Time to do some automation. In the first parts of this series, you can follow me on my path to getting the living room straightened out (some funny surprises included), the coffee machine turning on automatically, and some open source voice assistance. In this part, I will cover the hardware I intend to use for the automation: These are mainly: - Philips hue light bulbs and a v1 bridge (the old version works fine in my setup) - Milight light bulbs and a wifi gateway - Several sonoff basic - A main component: several Sonoff T1 3 gang (2 channels) - Several google aiy kit - Used android tablets - The Guleek mini pcs depicted here died unfortunately, so we are using raspberry pis and old Lenovo laptops instead (other options: Atomic Pi, Labrador from Caninos Loucos) - a USB FTDI adapter for programming In the next show, I am going to show you how to put your own software onto the Sonoff T1 3 Gang: Flash Sonoff T1 3 Gang: https://youtu.be/D7ekFGcUGXU Some of you might remember that all of these part where one 30 minute movie to start with, but I think they are easier to digest in this new short format.
